The Project Operations Associate provides support to the Project Controls team, including Schedulers, Cost Analysts, and the Project Controls Manager. This internship offers hands‑on exposure to project scheduling, cost control, data analysis, and reporting within large‑scale power generation and EPC projects.

The Project Operations Associate will gain experience with industry tools such as Primavera P6, Excel, and Power BI while supporting day‑to‑day project controls activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support project schedulers with schedule updates, data entry, and formatting in Primavera P6 and Excel

  • Participate in team meetings, take notes, and follow up on action items
  • Organize project documentation, schedules, and reports in shared drives or document control systems
  • Perform basic data quality checks and flag discrepancies for review
  • Support the Project Controls Manager with ad hoc tasks, including compiling performance metrics and coordinating with internal stakeholders
  • Assist with monthly project status updates and presentations
  • Learn and apply project controls concepts such as Critical Path Method, Earned Value Management, and schedule logic under supervision
  • Shadow team members to gain exposure to project controls tools, workflows, and communication practices
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Supply Chain, and Construction teams to collect project data as needed

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Industrial Engineering, Business, Construction Engineering, or a related field from a four‑year, ABET‑accredited institution
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to analyze information, prepare basic reports, and communicate findings effectively
  • Basic understanding of mathematical concepts including percentages, ratios, probability, and statistics
  • Strong problem‑solving and reasoning skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
  • Familiarity with project management or data visualization tools (Power BI, SharePoint, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Tableau, Power Apps, or Power Automate) is preferred but not required

Areas of Interest

  • Learning about project planning, scheduling techniques, and project controls methodologies
  • Developing skills in Critical Path Method scheduling, Earned Value Management, and progress reporting
  • Understanding how schedules, cost forecasts, and performance indicators are developed and monitored
  • Gaining exposure to project execution within the power generation and EPC industry

Why Should You Apply?

  • Hands‑on experience supporting large‑scale power generation and EPC projects
  • Exposure to project scheduling, cost control, and data reporting tools used across the industry
  • Opportunity to work closely with Project Controls, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Construction teams
  • Professional development through real project work and mentorship
  • Collaborative, values‑driven work environment
  • Opportunity to build a strong foundation for a career in project management or operations
