The Global Asia Research Centre (GARC) is a research centre within the College of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences (CoHASS), Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. The Centre serves as a platform for interdisciplinary research and scholarly exchange on Asia and its global connections, bringing together academics, researchers, policymakers, and industry partners through research initiatives, conferences, workshops, seminars, and public engagement activities.

This is a joint appointment between the Global Asia Research Centre and the Mining Mineral Life project, housed at the Nanyang Environment and Water Research Institute (NEWRI). The Project Officer will contribute to the management and delivery of programs in the Global Asia Research Centre and the Mining Mineral Life: Extracting the Energy Transition in Southeast Asia research project. The role will be divided 60% on the Global Asia Research Centre and 40% on Mining Mineral Life. The role will be essential to the delivery of world class research programs and impact activities including organizing international conferences, seminars, fieldwork logistics.
At GARC, the candidate will join a team of the Director, the Deputy Director, and multiple Early Career Fellows. The centre also hosts Visiting Fellows and Visiting Professors.
On the Mining Mineral Life side, the candidate will join a team including the PI, two Research Fellows, and one PhD student. The team will also collaborate with artists and graphic designers on a program of scholarly and public facing artistic impact projects.
