About the role

Join us as a Project Officer, Events, where you'll play a key role in delivering high-profile events and engagement initiatives that celebrate, inform and connect the NSW education community. Working closely with the Senior Project Officer, Events, you will help coordinate a diverse program of events and exhibitions that showcase student achievement.

This is an exciting opportunity for an organised and proactive events professional who enjoys managing multiple projects, building strong stakeholder relationships and bringing events to life from planning through to delivery. You'll contribute to meaningful initiatives that support education outcomes across NSW while gaining exposure to a broad range of engagement activities and high-profile events.

On a day-to-day basis you will be responsible for:

• Developing project plans to deliver events and engagement initiatives on time, within budget and to agreed outcomes.
• Coordinating event administration activities including venue sourcing, stakeholder liaison, speaker coordination, run sheets, floor plans, briefing materials and onsite event delivery.
• Building and maintaining effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful event planning and execution.
• Communicating event timelines, expectations and responsibilities clearly to a range of audiences.
• Developing event-related marketing collateral, including programs, web content and newsletter communications in partnership with communications teams.
• Preparing and maintaining project documentation, budgets, monitoring reports and evaluation materials.
• Identifying opportunities to enhance stakeholder engagement initiatives and improve event processes and systems.
• Managing competing priorities across multiple events while responding effectively to changing requirements and tight timeframes.

Our ideal candidate will have:

• Demonstrated experience coordinating and delivering events, engagement programs or projects, ideally within a complex stakeholder environment.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes under tight timeframes while maintaining attention to detail.
• Experience managing event budgets and monitoring expenditure to minimise cost creep and achieve value-for-money outcomes.
• Strong project management skills, with the ability to plan, coordinate, monitor and evaluate projects and initiatives from inception to completion.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages to diverse audiences and develop engaging event communications and promotional materials.
• A collaborative approach, with proven ability to build effective relationships and work productively with a broad range of stakeholders, suppliers and partner organisations.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to develop practical solutions and workarounds in a fast-paced events environment.
• Confidence using a range of technologies, systems and digital tools to support project and event delivery.

Essential Requirements

• Degree qualification and/or at least 5 years of relevant work experience.
• A current and valid NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC) for paid employment.
• A current driver's license.
• Willingness to work outside of regular working hours is required.
