As a Project Officer in the Strategy, Intergovernmental Relationships and Partnerships team, you will contribute to the Aboriginal Housing Office (AHO’s) strategic priorities, including Closing the Gap (CtG), Housing Policy Partnership (HPP) commitments and the AHO Strategy and Strategic Partnerships Framework. The role provides an opportunity to work across government and with key partners to support initiatives that strengthen Aboriginal housing outcomes across NSW.
We’re looking for a proactive and collaborative project officer with strong organisational, communication and relationship building skills. You’ll be comfortable coordinating multiple priorities, working across teams and government agencies, and preparing briefings and project documentation.
You’ll bring an understanding of Aboriginal cultural beliefs, perspectives and attitudes, and the socio-economic position of Aboriginal people within Australian society and how these relate to housing. You’ll also have a strong understanding of the historical and political impacts on policy development in NSW and nationally, including Aboriginal land rights and Aboriginal land use.
You’ll have experience in government, intergovernmental relations, strategic planning, policy or project coordination, with the ability to work collaboratively and contribute to strategic priorities that improve housing outcomes for Aboriginal people across NSW.
