Our Strategic Projects & Coordination team is currently seeking to appoint a Project Officer to provide high-quality advice, coordination and project support that enables informed decision-making and the delivery of government and departmental priorities.
Working in a high performing, collaborative team, you will coordinate briefing materials, correspondence, reports and other sensitive documentation for senior executives and Ministers’ Offices. You will contribute to projects of corporate significance, support governance and operational initiatives, identify emerging issues and risks, and work collaboratively across the department to ensure priorities are delivered effectively and on time. This is a fast-paced and varied role where no two days are the same, offering exposure to executive decision-making and cross-agency collaboration.
About You
You are a highly organised and adaptable professional with experience working in a fast-paced environment where competing priorities, tight deadlines and changing demands are the norm. You bring strong judgement, attention to detail and the ability to manage sensitive information with professionalism, discretion and diplomacy.
You are an effective communicator who can build productive relationships across a diverse stakeholder group and confidently prepare high-quality written materials for senior audiences. Collaborative and solutions-focused, you enjoy analysing issues, coordinating projects and contributing to outcomes that support strategic and organisational priorities. Your ability to analyse and consolidate advice from a range of subject matter areas into a cohesive product that represents a whole-of-department position is one of your strengths.

The Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW) works to protect the state’s environment and heritage. It leads the way on climate change, driving the sustainable transition to a net zero economy, powered by affordable, reliable, and clean energy.
DCCEEW conserves and protects the state’s natural environment. It manages the NSW national park estate, including its rich and diverse biodiversity and Aboriginal cultural heritage for future generations.
DCCEEW also ensures sustainable management of water resources across the state, to support the environment, communities and industry.
The Strategic Projects and Coordination team leads all-of DCCEEW advice coordination to develop succinct advice that supports well-informed decision making for DCCEEW senior executives and ministers. Our key priorities are delivering legislative and strategic foresight, cross-government consultation, and engaging with NSW Parliament and Commonwealth inquiries and consultation.
