About the role:

The Seasons Project Officer is situated within the MacKillop Seasons and MacKillop Institute team. This role supports the promotion, coordination and delivery of MacKillop Seasons education initiatives across designated regions, with a primary focus on the Seasons for Life project and a secondary focus on the Disaster Resilience project.

The position plays an important role in engaging with schools and community stakeholders predominantly across VIC, TAS, NSW to promote awareness of MacKillop Seasons programs, support uptake and participation, and coordinate local implementation activities in line with approved project plans. The role contributes to an integrated, trauma‑informed approach to outreach, onboarding and ongoing engagement with schools and communities, ensuring consistency and clarity across both projects.

The Seasons Project Officer works closely with the Acting Lead – Seasons for Life, as well as other national and regional team members, to support effective project collaboration, delivery, stakeholder relationships, data collection and continuous improvement. While the role supports both Seasons for Life and Disaster Resilience initiatives, it maintains a stronger emphasis on promoting, coordinating and supporting Seasons for Life as the core program offering.

This is a part-time, fixed term opportunity until July 2027, and can be performed from Melbourne or Adelaide, based in the MacKillop Seasons Team.

About you:

You are a collaborative and values-driven leader with strong experience overseeing complex, multi-jurisdictional programs—ideally within disaster recovery, resilience, education, or community services. You bring a strategic mindset alongside a hands-on approach, enabling you to provide national leadership while ensuring projects are delivered effectively, on time, and in line with governance and funding requirements.

You have a keen focus on continuous improvement, using data, feedback and evaluation insights to inform decision-making, enhance program delivery and support future development. You are equally comfortable contributing to strategic communications and funding sustainability efforts and representing your organisation in both internal and external forums.

Key Selection Criteria:

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and values and an awareness of the current issues faced by Aboriginal children, young people and their families.
  • Relevant qualifications in education, health or relevant discipline, ideally with specialist knowledge and experience in suicide postvention and/or disaster preparedness and recovery.
  • Experience in delivering services to support young people through health and/or education; demonstrating achievement of key performance indicators against a project plan.
  • Self-starter with the drive and competence to manage the state project with limited supervision or guidance.
  • Demonstrated time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines, targets and key deliverables of the program.
