About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Project Officer to join our team on a 12-month fixed-term contract In this essential assisting role, you will provide high-level operational and administrative support to the ISJA Manager, ensuring the smooth delivery of workforce development initiatives across the Tech, Business, and Finance sectors.

You will be the "engine room" of the program, helping to bridge the gap between industry and government by managing the logistics, data, and stakeholder coordination that drive our workforce strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Support & Delivery: Assist in the implementation of Annual Action Plans, Engagement Strategies, and Communication Plans while monitoring timelines and deliverables to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Stakeholder & IRG Coordination: Help facilitate the onboarding of Industry Reference Group (IRG) members, coordinate meetings, develop structured agendas, and record accurate minutes to ensure accountability.
  • Workforce Insights Assistance: Collect and assist in the analysis of industry intelligence and labour market trends to identify skills gaps and support evidence-based decision-making for Queensland’s economic growth.
  • Systems & Administrative Excellence: Provide high-level administrative and assistant support to the ISJA Manager, including managing stakeholder groups, maintaining accurate records, and handling SharePoint file management.
  • Special Projects Support: Partner with the ISJA Manager to help plan and execute "Special Projects" that arise, ensuring they meet outlined objectives and timelines.

About You

We are looking for a proactive professional who thrives in a collaborative, supportive environment and possesses:

  • Sector Awareness: A solid understanding of the Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector, including RTO regulations and Training Package development, is highly regarded.
  • Coordination Skills: Proven experience in project coordination and managing multiple priorities.
  • Stakeholder Diplomacy: Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to assist in engaging high-level stakeholders, including government officials and industry leaders.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong skills in the Microsoft Office Suite and experience using tools like Mentimeter, Mirror, or PowerPoint to create engaging presentations.
  • Core Behaviours: A high degree of autonomy, initiative, attention to detail, and a results-focused mindset.
  • Ability to travel to regional Queensland and be available to work outside of normal hours at times.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and access to a car.

Qualifications:

  • Business Qualifications (or equivalent) are required.
  • Certificate IV Training and Assessment is considered a distinct advantage.

We are the major specialist paediatric hospital in Victoria and our care extends to children from Tasmania, southern New South Wales and other states around Australia and overseas.

With a passionate, highly skilled and committed staff campus wide of over 5,000, we provide a full range of clinical services, tertiary care and health promotion and prevention programs for children and young people.

We are the designated state-wide major trauma centre for paediatrics in Victoria and a Nationally Funded Centre for cardiac and liver transplantation.

Our campus partners, the Murdoch Childrens Research Institute (MCRI) and The University of Melbourne Department of Paediatrics, along with the RCH Foundation, are on site with the hospital in Parkville.
