ABOUT THE COMPANY

The Project Officer is responsible for providing effective and efficient administrative support for the day-to-day activities of allocated project(s) / program(s).

Position context

The Student Learning and Progress (SLP) Division offers a range of highly successful educational products and services intended to support and promote high quality educational provision and outcomes globally. SLP delivers ACER’s research and evidence-based expertise to schools and school systems through a range of products and services.

Job responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support for the day-to-day activities of allocated projects /programs;
  • Adhere to governance and service delivery protocols;
  • Respond in a timely and professional manner to queries and requests for information;
  • Liaise with relevant staff members, or other business units/ functions, to resolve issues as they arise;
  • Plan and organise delegated work activities to ensure completion by set timelines;
  • Adhere to data collection and management procedures to prepare, collect, record and maintain data;
  • Assist with the administration and maintenance of databases, administration systems and online platforms (as applicable);
  • Assist with promotional activities and broader communications as directed;
  • Contribute to the enhancement and further refinement of existing data management and administration systems; and
  • Work on other projects / programs commensurate with jobsize as required.

Decision making authority

The Project Officer is required to exercise initiative in carrying out delegated responsibilities, although close consultation with the appropriate Project Director or Senior Project Officer is important. Work is within established routines. Decisions are made with reference to the Project Director or Senior Project Officer.

The Project Officer assumes no supervisory or management responsibilities.

Education


Bachelor Degree in relevant disciplineRelevant working experience

Skills, knowledge and experience

Essential:

  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Experience and willingness to work in a team
  • Excellent organisational skills, including the ability to work under pressure
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Computer literacy, including experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Desirable:

  • Experience working in the education (or other relevant) sector or background in teaching
  • Experience working in a client service environment
  • Familiarity with database packages / database management and experience using various internet applications
