Job Description

Every day, we get opportunities to make a positive impact – on our colleagues, partners, customers, and society. Together, we’re pioneering the solutions of the future and unlocking the full potential of precious resources. Trusted to act on initiative, we challenge conventional thinking to develop world-leading technologies that inspire progress in vital areas, including energy, food, water, and shipping.

As we push forward, the innovative, open spirit that fuels our 140-year-old start-up culture and rapid growth also drives our personal growth. So, as we shape a more resourceful, less wasteful world, we build our careers too.

About The Job

As Project Office Manager, you will lead and develop a team of Project Managers, ensuring the successful execution of customer projects while driving excellence in project governance, resource planning, and portfolio performance. You will be responsible for creating the framework that enables projects to be delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Working closely with Sales, Engineering & Supply, Operations, and other key stakeholders, you will ensure transparency across the project portfolio, support strategic decision-making, and continuously improve the way we execute projects.

Your main responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Project Managers, fostering a high-performing and collaborative project organization.

  • Drive successful execution of the project portfolio by ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

  • Own project governance, continuously improving project management processes, tools, and best practices across the organization.

  • Provide portfolio oversight through capacity planning, performance monitoring, risk management, and regular management reporting.

  • Collaborate closely with Sales, Engineering & Supply, Operations, and other key stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution and customer satisfaction.

  • Support commercial activities by contributing to quotations, project planning, and smooth project handovers from Sales to execution.

  • Build organizational capability through resource planning, recruitment, and the development of Project Management competencies.

At Alfa Laval, we embrace a hybrid work model, providing you the flexibility to work from home when it aligns with your tasks. This position is at our Nakskov office, with an expected travel commitment of approximately 40 – 50 days per year.

What You Know

  • A degree in mechanical engineering, Process Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

  • Experience managing complex customer projects, preferably involving process equipment, industrial installations, or capital projects.

  • 3–5+ years of leadership experience, with a proven ability to coach, develop, and lead high-performing project teams.

  • Strong knowledge of project governance, portfolio management, resource planning, budgeting, and risk management.

  • Experience working in cross-functional environments, collaborating closely with Sales, Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain.

  • Solid commercial understanding, with experience supporting quotations, contract execution, and customer-facing project delivery.

About You

You are a confident and pragmatic leader who combines sound judgement with a structured and results-oriented approach. Comfortable balancing technical, commercial, and operational priorities, you make well-informed decisions and remain focused on delivering successful outcomes. You lead by example, creating an environment where your team can grow, collaborate, and perform at their best through coaching, support, and clear direction. With a proactive mindset, you take ownership, navigate challenges with resilience, and build strong relationships across functions to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
