Our client is a publicly listed Indonesian mining contractor and infrastructure development company with extensive experience supporting large-scale mineral and mining operations across the country. The company specializes in integrated mining services covering mine planning, mining operations, infrastructure development, logistics support, hauling, barging, transshipment, and mine rehabilitation for both local and multinational industrial projects.

With strong operational capabilities in greenfield mining developments, the company plays a significant role in building critical early-stage mining infrastructure including hauling roads, jetties, camp facilities, and mine support systems. Job Role

The Mining Project Manager is a strategic leadership position responsible for overseeing end-to-end mining project execution, particularly within greenfield development environments. The role covers project planning, infrastructure development, production readiness, contractor coordination, fleet optimization, and operational management to ensure all activities are completed safely, efficiently, and within established project timelines and budgets.

Working closely with operational teams, contractors, and senior management, the successful candidate will lead the transition from early-stage site development through active production phases. This role requires strong project management capability, hands-on operational leadership, and deep understanding of mining productivity, cost control, and large-scale site management within contractor-based mining operations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning and execution of greenfield mining projects including hauling roads, jetty development, pit opening, and supporting site infrastructure.
  • Manage day-to-day mining operations including production scheduling, pit development, fleet utilization, and manpower coordination to achieve operational targets.
  • Develop and optimize fleet matching strategies, equipment ratios, and operational budgeting to maximize site productivity and cost efficiency.
  • Coordinate closely with contractors, engineering teams, pit services, logistics providers, and relevant stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Monitor operational performance, project milestones, and production progress while ensuring alignment with business objectives and timelines.
  • Ensure all mining activities comply with applicable HSE standards, mining regulations, and internal operational procedures.
  • Prepare operational and financial reports related to production performance, budgeting, project progress, and site productivity.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to operational efficiency, contractor management, and production optimization.


Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mining Engineering is required.
  • Possession of valid POP or POM mining certification is mandatory.
  • Minimum 8–10 years of experience in mining operations with at least 3–5 years in managerial-level responsibilities.
  • Proven experience managing large-scale mining operations, production activities, and site teams within contractor-based mining environments.
  • Strong experience handling greenfield mining projects from early-stage land development through operational production and logistics readiness.
  • Experience in mineral mining operations such as nickel, copper, gold, bauxite, or similar mining commodities is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of mining methods, pit development, mine planning, production optimization, and operational scheduling.
  • Proven capability in fleet matching, equipment ratio calculations, operational budgeting, forecasting, and cost control management.
  • Strong analytical thinking and operational problem-solving capability within high-pressure site environments.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder coordination skills.
  • Able to manage cross-functional operational teams, contractors, and multiple site priorities effectively.
  • High level of discipline, responsibility, adaptability, and commitment to operational excellence and safety culture.
  • Adequate English proficiency for technical communication and coordination purposes.
