Job Description

Our client, a third-generation, family-owned business established in 1964, is seeking a Structural Steel Project Manager & Estimator to join their team at their facility in Port Allen, LA They specializes in custom structural steel fabrication tailored specifically for industrial industries such as petrochemical and refineries.

As a Structural Steel Project Manager & Estimator, you'll be responsible for handling full project life cycles (cradle to grave) for structural steel projects (high-quality pipe structures, supports, walkways, ladders, and access platforms built precisely to client specifications).

What You'll Do:

• Review customer-supplied specifications to perform precise material take-offs and calculate comprehensive labor/material costs.
• Build and manage project plans, budgets, material lists, and production schedules for industrial steel fabrication projects.
• Process purchase orders through final shipping - including coordinating with detailers, handling RFIs, generating shipping tickets, and managing field drawings.
• Act as a main point of contact for the customer, providing timely product order status updates and ensuring an enjoyable service experience.
• Coordinate activities with the in-house shop production team to ensure optimum use of resources, equipment, and on-time delivery.
• Prioritize and swiftly shift gears between long-term estimating tasks and rapid-response client inquiries.

Required Qualifications:

• 4+ years of project management and estimating experience in the structural steel industry preferred. Open to 1–2 years of experience for candidates who are eager to learn.
• Strong baseline understanding of structural steel fabrication, materials, and engineering drawings
• Direct experience in industrial fabrication sectors (petrochemical, refineries) is preferred.
• Proficiency with Office 365 and Microsoft Office products.
• Experience with TEKLA EPM (formerly Fabsuite) is preferred.
• Excellent communication, multitasking, and organizational skills.
