Transportation Electrical Construction & Maintenance unit is seeking two (2) Project Manager positions This unit is responsible for the maintenance, construction, and management of traffic control devices and traffic management systems, as well as the management of the Street Lighting and pedestrian‑scale lighting.
Capital Construction
Reporting to the Senior Engineer of capital construction, the Project Manager is accountable for the successful delivery of complex capital construction projects related to traffic signals and ITS infrastructure. The role provides technical leadership, project and contract management, and people leadership, while ensuring compliance with City standards, legislation, and best practices.
Streetlighting
Reporting to the Senior Project Manager of Streetlighting, the Project Manager is accountable for the delivery of the Street Lighting Agreement and Pedestrian Scale Lighting operations and maintenance program. The role provides leadership in project, contract, and stakeholder management related to lighting construction, maintenance, and electrical services procurement. The Project Manager leads coordination across internal City divisions, Toronto Hydro, third parties, and external agencies, ensuring effective planning, design, procurement, construction, and ongoing operations. The position provides technical and program leadership to multidisciplinary teams, ensuring compliance with City standards, service level agreements, legislative requirements, and industry best practices for streetlighting and electrical infrastructure.
