What you will be doing

As Transport Project Manager, you will lead and coordinate large, strategic transportation projects with a multi‑site and/or multi‑Business Unit scope. Your role is pivotal in driving standardization across processes and ways of working, ensuring full compliance with all applicable transport regulations, and shaping a future‑proof transport organization for Umicore.

You will be part of the Transport & Trade Compliance team and report directly to the Head of Transport. The team you will be joining, values trust and collaboration as well as a continuous improvement mindset, and you will be empowered to take ownership of your projects and make a real impact.

• You take full ownership of project planning, execution and governance.
• You will steer cross functional project teams and work closely with the cross functional stakeholders to harmonize procedures, optimize operational execution and embed best practices. You promote digitalization and data driven decision making, strengthen our governance model and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
• You build strong, proactive stakeholder engagement to secure alignment, support and decision making across the projects, while expanding your internal network through a customer centric approach
• You apply your transportation expertise to guide teams through complex project phases, providing training, presentations and targeted advisory support to ensure consistent project execution and to strengthen the overall transport organization.

Who we are looking for

• You hold a Master’s degree and bring at least 5 years of experience within transport or supply chain environments. You possess deep expertise in transportation processes, the functioning of various transportation modes, available transportation solutions, and transportation systems.
• You have proven experience in Project Management, independently leading complex, end‑to‑end supply chain or transportation projects You confidently manage diverse stakeholder groups, drive standardization initiatives, and consistently ensure on‑time delivery.
• You demonstrate strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities, making sound decisions in fast‑moving environments.
• You easily build connections across all levels of an organization. You have excellent communication skills and are able to influence and convince others effectively.
• You are highly comfortable working with project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, hybrid) and can independently select and apply the most appropriate approach depending on the project context.
• Fluency in English is required. Dutch language skills are a nice‑to‑have
