Job Description

Interested in a career that matters?

Are you passionate about driving sustainability through impactful project leadership?

Join a newly established team within Novonesis’ Supply Chain organization,

created to lead the global PPWR Program and help ensure compliance with the EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR). This is a unique opportunity to become part of a growing team at the beginning of an important journey that supports the transition to more sustainable packaging solutions across Novonesis.

Today, we are five colleagues representing four nationalities, and we are

expanding to nine team members as the program moves into execution. We combine a structured PMO setup and strong project governance with an open, curious, and pragmatic way of working.

We believe in collaboration, diversity of thought, and creating an environment where people can contribute, grow, and enjoy working together. For someone looking to make a real difference in a sustainability-focused project management role, this is an opportunity to help shape something meaningful from the ground up.

The role & your impact

As Project Manager, you will lead project teams of varying sizes and complexity, ensuring successful delivery of critical initiatives within the PPWR Program portfolio. The role is strongly execution-focused and requires structured project management in a complex and innovative environment where packaging solutions must be developed, tested, and implemented in collaboration with internal specialists and external partners

Key responsibilities include:

  • Own and drive assigned project workstreams from planning through delivery.
  • Deliver projects on time, within scope, and according to quality expectations.
  • Lead and motivate cross-functional project teams while fostering collaboration and alignment.
  • Coordinate local, regional, and global stakeholders to support effective execution.
  • Track milestones, dependencies, risks, and actions to ensure reliable project progress.
  • Support implementation of PPWR strategy and compliance activities through structured project execution.
  • Prepare clear project updates, documentation, and decision-making materials for stakeholders.
  • Identify challenges proactively and facilitate problem solving across project teams.
  • Operate independently while maintaining close alignment with the overall program objectives.

What you’ll need to be successful in this role

We are looking for a project management professional who combines strong execution capabilities with excellent stakeholder management skills.

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management, Production, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3-8 years of relevant project management experience.
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering projects in complex environments.
  • Strong project management toolbox, including planning, risk management, stakeholder management, and execution follow-up.
  • Professional proficiency in written and spoken English.
  • Experience working with diverse stakeholders in an international environment.

Essential competencies:

  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Motivational and engaging project leadership capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and drive results.
  • Collaboration mindset and team-oriented approach.
  • Structured and detail-oriented execution style.

Additional skills & interests we value

While not required, we would welcome candidates who bring experience from supply chain, operations, manufacturing, packaging, or sustainability-related projects.

Knowledge of packaging materials, compliance requirements, and environmental regulations would be an advantage, as would experience working in PMO-driven organizations or large transformation programs.

Familiarity with product development, testing, and implementation projects is also valued. Most importantly, we are looking for someone with a genuine curiosity about sustainable solutions and an interest in driving innovation in response to regulatory change

What we offer

This is a unique opportunity to join a newly established and highly visible team with an important strategic mission. You will have the chance to contribute directly to Novonesis’ sustainability agenda and regulatory readiness while working in an international and diverse team representing multiple nationalities and perspectives.

We offer a collaborative environment where knowledge sharing, support from experienced colleagues, and strong cross-functional teamwork are part of everyday life. As the PPWR Program continues to grow, you will have the opportunity to help shape processes, ways of working, and program delivery. At the same time, you'll be part of a workplace that values both professional excellence and a positive, engaging social culture

Working conditions

We work with an Office First approach because we believe that strong culture, collaboration, and meaningful connections are best built through in-person interactions. At the same time, we offer flexibility to work from home when appropriate and provide flexible working hours to support collaboration across our global organization. You will be part of an international project environment, working closely with stakeholders across multiple regions and functions. The role involves limited travel, with approximately 5-10 travel days per year
