The Project Manager Strategic Initiatives leads project teams for multiple projects; overseeing budgets, schedules, resources and deliverables for those projects. This position is responsible for the direction, coordination, implementation, execution and completion of projects while ensuring they remain aligned with the business needs, strategy, and remain within scope. The role translates strategic intent of the network optimization effort into executable initiatives, ensuring value realization through rigorous analysis, structured governance, disciplined execution, and effective change management.

The Project Manager Strategic Initiatives ensures that the project adds value to the business by prioritizing projects and communicating to the relevant stakeholders, including oversight committees.

Role remains focused on Master Plan aligned strategic initiatives and developing the needed documentation and structure to scale up network optimization efforts.

  • Salary scale 006: $100,900 to $126,100
    (Base salary will be determined based on academic background, experience, training, and job-related skills.)

Key levers where you will make an impact

  • Provide strategic expertise in the execution of integration initiatives, divestitures, and key priorities aligned with the organization’s master plan.

  • Lead large-scale projects by managing multidisciplinary and multi-site teams (employees, consultants, external partners) across multiple concurrent initiatives.

  • Translate corporate strategy into concrete actions with clear value-creation levers and measurable performance indicators.

  • Develop, maintain, and continuously enhance robust documentation supporting Agropur’s network optimization model (assumptions, data sources, methodologies, decision rules, and limitations).

  • Plan and orchestrate end-to-end projects, ensuring rigorous tracking of costs, resources, timelines, and deliverables.

  • Collaborate closely with leaders to document changes, analyze cross-functional interdependencies, and integrate them into a comprehensive change management plan.

  • Ensure clear, consistent, and stakeholder-appropriate change communications.

  • Anticipate future needs through proactive capacity and resource planning.

  • Build trusted relationships with stakeholders through effective communication and ongoing support.

  • Foster an engaging work environment focused on collaboration, accountability, and recognition of achievements.

  • Support strategic decision-making, in partnership with Finance, through the development and analysis of cost-benefit studies.

  • Contribute to the governance of strategic projects by applying standard practices and a continuous improvement approach.

  • Act as a core member of the Strategic Initiatives and Operations team, demonstrating structured thinking, strong influencing skills, excellent teamwork, and the ability to deliver in complex, fast-paced environments.

What will enable you to create value

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field required.

  • An equivalent combination of education and/or experience will be considered.

  • 5 to 7 years of experience in project management required.

  • Experience in the consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry, with exposure to a manufacturing environment, is preferred.

  • Experience in change management and in leading transition and implementation initiatives. Strong negotiation skills required.

  • Excellent understanding of financial aspects required.

  • Demonstrated experience working in a matrixed and multicultural environment required.

  • Bilingualism in French and English, both written and spoken, required.

  • PMP certification preferred.

  • Intermediate computer skills with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and role‑specific software.
