REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION:

  • A bachelor’s degree in agriculture. Holding a master’s degree is an advantage.


EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive professional experience in agriculture, food security, or rural development programs, with at least 3 years in a managerial or senior coordination role.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, build capacity, and drive performance.
  • Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, program design, implementation oversight, and results-based management.
  • Strong background in sustainable and climate-smart agriculture, rural livelihoods, and food security systems.
  • Solid experience in stakeholder and partnership management, including engagement with donors, government entities, CSOs, and technical partners
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate program data and field insights into strategic decisions and program improvements.


WORKING CONDITIONS:

Hybrid work that is a blend of in-office and field visits.

BACKGROUND
Om Habibeh Mohamed Shah Aga Khan Foundation (OHF) is an Egyptian non-profit foundation serving the people of Aswan for over 35 years. The foundation is an affiliate of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN), which supports over 1,000 initiatives in over 30 countries around the world.

Under the oversight of the Ministry of Social Solidarity, OHF’s core objective is to improve the quality of life of vulnerable and underserved communities through integrated, sustainable development approaches. The Foundation works across key sectors including education, health, economic inclusion, agriculture and food security, civil society strengthening, women’s empowerment, and early childhood development.

POSITION OBJECTIVES:
To lead and oversee the design, implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of project interventions, ensuring the achievement of its objectives, compliance with donor and organizational requirements, and effective coordination with partners, stakeholders, and community groups. The Project Manager is responsible for providing strategic direction, managing programme resources and teams, fostering partnerships, and ensuring that programme outcomes contribute to sustainable development and organizational priorities.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

  • Provide strategic leadership and overall management of the project, ensuring alignment with OHF’s vision, strategic priorities, and donor requirements.
  • Represent OHF in relevant coordination forums, technical committees, donor meetings, and external events, strengthening the organization’s visibility and influence in the project.
  • Lead the development and implementation of the project, annual work plans, budgets, and operational frameworks to achieve program objectives and maximize impact.
  • Lead project development and resource mobilization efforts, including proposal writing, concept development, fundraising opportunities, and partnership building.
  • Oversee the design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of project interventions, ensuring quality delivery, effective resource utilization, and compliance with organizational and donor standards.
  • Establish and maintain effective partnerships with government entities, donors, civil society organizations, research institutions, private sector actors, and other key stakeholders.
  • Communicate effectively with project funders, providing regular updates on program progress, outcomes, and challenges. Prepare and submit timely and accurate reports, ensuring compliance with reporting requirements.
  • In cooperation with the monitoring and evaluation officer, conduct data analysis to measure the project’s effectiveness and impact, utilize findings to make informed decisions, identify areas for improvement, and showcase program achievements.
  • Manage the project’s budget, ensuring appropriate allocation of funds to different activities and cost control measures, monitor expenditures, review financial reports, and collaborate with finance personnel to ensure financial accountability and transparency.
  • Supervise, mentor, and support program staff, fostering a culture of accountability, learning, collaboration, and high performance.
  • Ensure effective risk management, compliance with organizational policies and donor regulations, and the integration of safeguarding, sustainability, and community engagement principles across program activities.
