Job Description

  • Being a Project Engineer upon assignment, of the assigned project
  • Support Project Manager (general management & administrative tasks)

RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Project Engineer who takes care of any Project or Standard Order work, with an Order number given and regardless of how big or small its size is, must act and perform as Project Manager of that Order Number.
  2. Effectively Perform Management Functions to make sure that an assigned project work will be successfully executed and the Desired Results will be achieved –
    1. handing over all the required deliverables to the customer,
    2. in a timely manner – meeting the Baseline Project Implementation Schedule as per the Contract/PO, otherwise Extension of Time (EoT) & Variation Order works must be addressed accordingly,
    3. realizing the target Revenues (+Billing as well) as forecasted, within the given Cost Budget, securing the GP Budget and managing WiP (Work-in-Process) amount as well
  3. Check and verify the following – by comparing between what are required by the customer’s Acceptance proceeding, process & procedures and what are required or stated in the Contract/PO (Purchase Order) –
    • Scope of Work (SoW) and Responsibility Matrix
    • Bills of Quantity (BoQ) - including but not limited to Design Drawings, Calculation Sheets, Statements of Compliance (SoC), Terms of Reference (ToR), Specifications, Requirements
      1. covering each and every stage in the project execution (Contract/PO, Design & Development, for-Construction, As-Built)
    • Claim Management, if there is any variance or deviation (in terms of Cost & Time).
      1. address issues found to any relevant party (Sales, Pre-Sales Technical Support) to proceed with Variation Order (VO) work claim.
      2. request for approval for additional Cost Budget, if it’s not claimable.
    • Administrate each and every variance, deviation, or gap found in BoQs (As-Built/Installation vs for-Construction vs PO Drawings). The following are where the gaps are more likely found.
  4. Make sure that Security, Health and Safety Policy, Process & Procedure, and Best Practices, and Site Rules & Regulations are well communicated to each and every project team, staff, subcontractors, workers, customer(s), consultant(s), etc., and effectively put into practice.
  5. Make sure that every concerned party has good Project Visibility – meaning that everyone working on the same project knows exactly what's going on and what's expected.
  6. Project Document Control Process & Procedure, make sure that all project documents are well taken care of, properly handled and controlled. Each and every document must be traceable, and easily addressable whenever required or needed.
  7. Perform project administrative tasks related to planning, forecasting and realization of Sales/Revenue, Billing (+Unbilled), Project Closing, as well as deviation or gap analysis (Actual Result vs Intended/Desired Result, if any).
  8. In the project kick-off meeting with a customer, reiterate, emphasize, or advise, inform a customer “Vertiv’s Terms and Conditions”, a compulsory attachment to every quotation submitted to customers. Seriously put it into practice.
  9. Perform Quantity Survey to produce Final As-Built BoQ.
  10. Upon Practical Completion as defined in the Contract/PO – more likely an official Date when the project is accepted, approved (or deemed accepted, if any) for commercial operation, signed off by the customer in a Practical Completion Certificate (completed UAT/SAT, IST), and announced – the Warranty Service starts.
  11. Project Handover and Closure, it is the point in the project management lifecycle when the completed tasks are being transferred to the deliverable owner, the customer and/or the end-user, including the Warranty Service Operations team.
  12. Should there be any problem or issue that is likely beyond your control, escalate the issue to your immediate supervisor or your next higher-level supervisors (if required or needed). For example –
  13. Upon project completion, Conduct a customer satisfaction survey.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering
  • Having relevant work experiences in the following roles that demonstrate specific skills and industry knowledge:
    • Data Center Project Management or Implementation, or Project Engineering, or Operations
    • Project Management or Implementation, or Project Engineering of M&E (Mechanical & Electrical) system/work in construction sites
    • Having a Certified Data Center Professional (CDCP) is preferable.
  • Possessing the following skills :
    • Supervisory skills
    • Effective English Communication skills (Reading, Writing, Listening, and Speaking)
    • (Project) Management Skills
    • Teamwork and Collaboration skills
    • Having excellent computer skills (MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Project etc.) and being computer literate
