The Savannah Convention Center is currently seeking a Project Manager to join our team.  The Project Manager shall be responsible for assisting the Senior Director of Operations and Special Projects in administration of projects as assigned, to include, but not be limited to, the construction of the Signia by Hilton Savannah Hotel (“the Hotel”).
As it relates to the Hotel construction, this position will serve as the owner’s (Savannah-Georgia Convention Center Authority) day to day representative, tasked with ensuring the owner’s interest are protected. The Project Manager shall be responsible for cataloguing and maintaining project records including but not limited to drawings, specifications, and operations and maintenance manuals. The position shall be responsible for the coordination between contractors engaged in various projects and the Savannah Convention Center departments to ensure work is performed with minimal impact on business. Please note that this is not an IT project management role.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Administer and supervise day-to-day progress of the Hotel construction.
- Serve as liaison between the Georgia World Congress Center Authority and architects, contractors, engineers and other persons or agencies in the administration of project.
- Maintain records and provide the Senior Director of Operations and Special Projects with weekly status reports of the project.
- Monitor cost and performance of work associated with the Hotel project.
- Review all contractor payment applications for assigned project, maintain records and make recommendations to the Senior Director of Operations and Special Projects regarding payment of associated invoices and payment applications.
- Coordinate owner’s inspections of the Hotel and other assigned projects including final inspections and commissioning.
- Coordinate and facilitate progress meetings with contractors.
- Ensure that all contractors comply with the terms and conditions of contracts.
- Catalogue and maintain all project-related documents.
- Participate in weekly departmental meetings as required.
- Catalogue and maintain all departmental operations and maintenance manuals, to include incorporating additions and revisions, and removing deletions.
- Coordinate & track permits, inspections, approvals, and certificates of occupancy.
-  Monitor contractor compliance with licensing, insurance, bonding, safety, and labor requirements.
- Monitor job-site safety practices and participate in safety audits, incident investigations, and corrective action tracking.
- Review, evaluate, and track change orders for scope, cost, and schedule impacts.
- Coordinate project closeout including warranties, as-built documentation, training, and turnover.
- Maintain and analyze project schedule; identify risks and recommend recovery actions.
- Identify and escalate project risks and compliance issues with recommended mitigation strategies.
- Coordinate construction activities within occupied facilities to minimize impacts to operations, safety, and customer experience.
- Maintain a professional image that represents the philosophy of the Georgia World Congress Center Authority with emphasis on providing clients and exhibitors the highest possible level of customer service.
- Perform such other duties, functions, special projects, and responsibilities as assigned.
- Position requires an irregular work schedule, and performance of work assignments that may not be directly related to job specifications.

- Ability to work an irregular work schedule as required to perform duties and responsibilities.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) minimum.
- Ten (10) years’ experience in commercial construction or similar field, demonstrating project management responsibilities.
- Valid Georgia driver’s license.
- Able to work an irregular work schedule as required to perform duties and responsibilities.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Architecture, Building Construction, Construction Management, Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or related field preferred.
- Experience working for a multi-purpose facility servicing major exhibitions, entertainment or meeting oriented events preferred.
KEY PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Onsite walking/climbing/standing for long periods on uneven terrain
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs
- Ability to work in various environmental conditions such as heat, cold, loud noise and dust
- Use of applicable PPE (i.e.: hard hats, boots, safety glasses, etc.)
