Background
This Terms of Reference is for Roster Recruitment purposes. Selected candidates will be placed in a talent pool and may be deployed to any UNDP Bangladesh project or programme that requires a Project Manager at the NPSA-9 level. UNDP Bangladesh implements a broad portfolio of development programmes spanning democratic governance, rule of law and human rights; poverty reduction and social protection; climate change, environment and disaster risk management; sustainable energy and green economy; gender equality and women's empowerment; health; and crisis response and recovery.
UNDP works in close partnership with the Government of Bangladesh (GoB), civil society organizations, the private sector, UN agencies and bilateral/multilateral development partners to support Bangladesh's national development priorities, including the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030. Projects managed under this roster may be implemented in various modalities including National Implementation Modality (NIM), Direct Implementation Modality (DIM), and other partnership arrangements.
The Project Manager at NPSA-9 level will be responsible for the strategic and adaptive leadership of project management, ensuring results-based planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and reporting in line with UNDP's programming principles, the project document, donor requirements and GoB priorities.

The incumbent performs other duties within their functional profile as deemed necessary for the efficient functioning of the Office and the Organization.
Institutional Arrangements:
The Project Manager (NPSA-9) will work under the direct supervision of the Programme Analyst or Head of Sub-Office, as designated. S/he will supervise project personnel and interact with a broad range of national and international stakeholders including government counterparts, UN agencies, civil society and the private sector.
