Job Introduction

In Cluj we started in 2009 and our local team currently has 250+ colleagues and is growing.

You will work for X10 project which is Frequentis’ innovative voice communication solution. It is based on state-of-the-art service-oriented architecture, facilitating the transition of pure legacy-based voice communications systems to datacenter-oriented systems.

As a Project Manager, you will lead the successful delivery of complex customer projects in the mission-critical domain. You will be responsible for managing project execution from contract handover through customer acceptance and project closure, ensuring delivery within scope, schedule, budget, and quality objectives.

You will collaborate closely with customers, engineering teams, product management, procurement, subcontractors, and business stakeholders while serving as the primary point of contact for all project-related matters.

This position offers the opportunity to work on large-scale international projects that support critical operations in Air Traffic Management

Key Tasks

Lead the complete lifecycle of customer delivery projects from initiation through execution to closure. Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, schedules, resource allocations, and budgets.
Coordinate work packages across engineering, product, verification, validation, deployment, and support teams.
Monitor project performance and implement corrective actions where necessary.
Ensure compliance with Frequentis delivery processes, governance frameworks, and contractual obligations.Act as the primary interface between Frequentis and the customer throughout project execution.
Build trusted customer relationships and ensure transparent communication.
Manage internal and external stakeholders across business units, suppliers, and customer organisations.
Facilitate steering committees, project reviews, and executive reporting.Identify, assess, and mitigate commercial, technical, operational, security, and schedule risks.
Drive proactive issue management and escalation processes.
Ensure delivery quality standards are met throughout the project lifecycle
Work closely with Technical Solution Managers, Systems Engineers, and Engineering Leads.
Oversee system integration, verification, validation, deployment, and customer acceptance activities.
Support transition to operations and service phases.
Ensure security, compliance, and regulatory requirements are addressed throughout project execution.
Continuously improve organisational processes through regular lessons learned.
Manage system build, verification, and validation processes with the TSM.
Coordinate subcontractors, external partners, and third-party suppliers.
Monitor supplier performance, deliverables, risks, and contractual commitments.
Manage procurement coordination and logistics activities where applicable.

Key Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunications, or a related field.
Experience managing customer-facing projects with contractual and commercial responsibilities.
Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and lifecycle management.
Experience using project planning and reporting tools (MS Project, Jira, Confluence, SAP, or equivalent).
Solid understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and financial project control.
Experience in risk, change, stakeholder, and contract management.
Mission-critical mindset with program management experience.
Proficiency in project management and scheduling tools.
Hands-on mentality and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to negotiate and resolve conflicts. Proactive in accepting project challenges.
Ideally, a technical background in mission-critical infrastructure/applications.
