About the role:

Based in Auckland, this is an exciting opportunity to lead high-impact quality improvement and product development projects that support the strategic growth of The a2 Milk Company.

As Project Manager – Quality & Product Development, you will be responsible for managing project activities and technical workstreams from concept through to commercialization and launch. Working across multiple regions and functions, you will collaborate with teams including Product Development, Quality, Regulatory, Operations, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Innovation, and Marketing to deliver successful project outcomes.

This role offers a unique opportunity to influence both product innovation and quality excellence while working within a fast-paced and highly collaborative environment.

More specifically, you will be involved in:

  • Managing end-to-end quality improvement and product development projects from scoping through to launch.
  • Developing project plans, timelines, budgets, and key performance indicators to ensure successful delivery.
  • Coordinating cross-functional teams to deliver new products and business-critical initiatives.
  • Managing project risks, issues, and dependencies to maintain project momentum and delivery timelines.
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives that enhance product quality, compliance, and operational performance.
  • Developing project dashboards, reports, and documentation to provide visibility and accountability.
  • Building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment and successful project execution.
  • Supporting project management capability across the wider Quality, Regulatory, and Product Development functions.

About you:

You are an experienced project manager with a strong technical foundation and a passion for delivering innovative products and quality improvements. You thrive in complex environments, enjoy bringing people together, and have a proven ability to drive projects from concept to commercialisation.

You will bring:

  • A minimum of 5 years' project management experience within Quality, Product Development, Compliance, Manufacturing, or related functions.
  • Experience managing complex technical projects from concept through to commercialization and launch.
  • Experience within dairy, nutritional products, food manufacturing, FMCG, or a related industry.
  • A strong understanding of quality systems, regulatory requirements, and product development processes.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong influencing, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
  • A degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Nutrition, or a related scientific discipline.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, or an equivalent project management qualification.
