The opportunity

Supporting and strengthening our team in Hitachi Energy UK,this Project Managerrole involvesthe installation ofPlugandSwitch System (PASS) switchgear You willbe responsible formanaging the entire project, which will includerepresentingHitachi Energy's commercial and contractual interests and managing all stakeholders (internal & external)through negotiations in line with FIDIC, NEC 3/NEC 4.

This role, in our Service Business, is ideally suited for someone who has a proventrack recordin the execution of End user facing projects in the Transmission and distribution market with customers including National Grid, SSE and Scottish Power.

Howyou'llmake an impact

  • Lead and manage the full project lifecycle for multiple, concurrent, and complex projects, adhering to Hitachi’s project management methodologies and standardswith responsibility for projects ranging from £250k2M.

  • Facilitate clear and concise communication with all project stakeholders, including senior management, team members, and external partners, providing regular updates on project status, risks, and achievements.

  • Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards and guidelines.

  • Develop detailed project plans, including scope definition,objectives, deliverables, resource allocation, and timelines.

  • Monitor project progress,identifypotential risks andissues, and implement effective mitigation strategies to ensure project success.

  • Manage project budgets, track expenditures, and ensure projects are completed within financial targets.

  • Lead and mentor project teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.

  • Conduct post-project reviews andlessons learnedsessions toidentifyareas for improvement and implement best practices.

  • Effective warranty communication across Business Units, manufacturing facilities, and customersnecessitatesproactive coordination in parts management,timelyexecution of deliverables, diligent budget oversight, and efficient recovery of factory costs.

Your background

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Computer Sciencedesired.

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certificationrequired
    Demonstratedability to manage multiple projects simultaneously whilemaintaininghigh quality and attention to detail.

  • Provenplanning and forecasting experience usingPrimavera P6 .

  • Excellent leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills.

  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities.

  • Proficient in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Jira, Asana, SAP,Pimavera6)

  • Experience working in a global, matrixed organization is highly desirable.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
