Project Manager – Operations & Capital Improvements

This position is responsible for managing assigned agency projects, including capital improvement and other operational initiatives, under the direction of the Chief of Operations. The incumbent will coordinate and implement projects from initiation through completion to ensure project deliverables, milestones, schedules, budgets, and objectives are achieved. Responsibilities include developing project plans, conducting risk assessments, establishing resource and task schedules, preparing and monitoring project budgets, and maintaining project documentation, reports, communication plans, and change management activities. The position will serve as the primary point of contact for assigned projects, coordinating with architects, engineers, contractors, consultants, vendors, agency staff, and other stakeholders to facilitate project activities, monitor progress, resolve issues, and ensure compliance with project specifications, contract requirements, applicable regulations, and agency standards. The incumbent will provide regular project updates and recommendations to the Chief of Operations and work collaboratively with internal departments and external partners to support the successful completion of projects on time, within budget, and with minimal disruption to agency operations.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, computer science, information systems management, public health, or related scientific or technical discipline and five years of experience in project management
  • Or a combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or a closely related field.
  • Experience coordinating capital improvement, facility, construction, or infrastructure projects from planning through completion.
  • Experience coordinating with architects, engineers, contractors, consultants, and regulatory agencies.
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and technical documents.
  • Experience monitoring project budgets, tracking expenditures, and preparing project status reports and presentations.
