Project Manager Medical Office

The role:

The Project Manager (PM) supports the Medical Office’s Clinical Research strategic pillars. The PM is responsible for coordinating the Clinical Research enterprise program ensuring alignment with organizational goals and delivering outcomes within scope, time, and budget. The PM enables the detailed planning, execution and performance monitoring of key projects.

The role works closely with Medical Office Leaders (Director Clinical Research, Head of Health Economics, Market Access and Reimbursement, and Head of Medical and Clinical in BUs), collaborates with cross-functional teams (Regulatory, Legal, Quality and BUs R&D and Marketing teams), orchestrates key meetings, facilitates communication and effective change management, applies Philips PM standards and methodologies, ensures risks and interdependencies are managed, and ensures projects are executed with quality.

The PM works as an operational driver of the Clinical Research program, turning strategy into executable workstreams, providing regular updates to senior leaders and proactively guiding projects to ensure benefits are realized.


Key responsibilities:

Project Management

  • Support establishment and execution of key Clinical Research workstreams across BUs. This role initially focuses on the development and execution of a new research model and associated work streams and clinical tools.
  • Develop governance, project charters, operational work plans, stakeholder engagement strategies, track and manage risks.
  • Manage scope, timelines, deliverables, and resource alignment.

Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Partner and accelerate collaboration with enterprise and BU clinical research and cross functional teams working in a hybrid organisational model to align and achieve strategic priorities.
  • Orchestrate key meetings and activities to engage, communicate, achieve consensus and enable execution across BUs.
  • Engage with key stakeholders such as Regulatory, Legal, Quality and BUs R&D and Marketing teams to ensure research execution aligns with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.

Change Management & Execution

  • Support stakeholder mapping, engagement and communication activities. Incorporate change management into execution plans to ensure effective adoption of initiatives across the organization.
  • Co-ordinate pilots phased rollouts and evaluations to identify and share learnings for continuous improvement.

Performance Measurement & Reporting

  • Implement structured project reporting and progress tracking leveraging tools such as Power BI and Azure DevOps.
  • Setting up a knowledge-based repository leveraging programs such as Confluence (incl Jira)
  • Track project progress and monitor outcomes using key metrics and KPIs.
  • Prepare progress reports, dashboards, and proposals for leadership monitoring and decision.

The Chief of staff/Director of Operations and Clinical Research Director/Head of HEMAR may delegate other duties as required. The Project Manager reports to the Director of Operations, Medical Office.

Key Competencies

  • Extensive experience with a broad range of management tools such as Power BI and Azure DevOps
  • Proactive and detail-oriented
  • Comfortable interacting across different organizational levels.
  • Able to navigate potential political sensitivities effectively.
  • Strong follow-up and coordination capabilities.

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications

Required Education and training

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in healthcare or business administration, Project Management or equivalent.

Required Work Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in areas such as Program Management, Project Development, Business Strategy, or equivalent within a MedTech or healthcare setting.
  • Proven track record of planning and managing complex programs and driving projects with cross-functional teams to achieve intended outcomes.
  • Proficiency in project management tools (Microsoft Project/ Smartsheet, Power BI, other PM tools used in Philips).

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Education and training

  • Bachelor’s degree or master’s in healthcare related field.
  • Philips PM Practitioner Certification and/ or PMP Project Management Professional Certification

Preferred Work Experience

  • Demonstrated understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements governing clinical research and evidence generation activities in medtech environments (including ISO 14155, ICH-GCP, FDA 21 CFR, and EU MDR 2017/745) is highly advantageous
