Job Description

The Project Manager – Material Management & Readiness reports to the Qinshan Tooling Project Director and is accountable for the end-to-end delivery of material management, logistics, and tooling deliverable milestone scope in support of the Qinshan Retube Project.

This role leads the planning, coordination, and execution of material readiness, inventory control, packaging, crating, and logistics as an integrated project workstream. The position is fully accountable for managing scope, schedule, cost, risk, and quality, including ownership of tooling-related deliverables and milestone commitments.

Working closely with Tooling Project Managers and cross-functional teams, this role ensures tooling, equipment, and materials are managed and delivered in compliance with nuclear quality standards, export regulations, and transportation requirements to support safe and timely project execution.

Your role

  • Accountable for delivery of assigned project scope, including tooling deliverables and milestone commitments, aligned with approved schedule, budget, quality, and safety requirements.
  • Lead the material management and logistics workstream as an integrated project function aligned with overall project execution strategy.
  • Develop and maintain detailed plans, schedules, and forecasts for material readiness, logistics, and tooling deliverables.
  • Manage scope, risks, issues, and interfaces related to tooling deliverables, material availability, inventory, packaging, and transportation.
  • Ensure tooling deliverables are tracked, progressed, and achieved in accordance with project milestones and client expectations.
  • Lead coordination with Engineering, Procurement, QA, Facilities, and Project teams to ensure readiness and delivery alignment.
  • Oversee vendor and subcontractor performance for packaging, crating, inventory management, logistics, and tooling-related activities.
  • Ensure compliance with engineering specifications, QA requirements, export controls, and transportation regulations.
  • Implement project governance, reporting, and controls in accordance with AtkinsRéalis procedures.
  • Provide accurate and timely reporting on progress, risks, and mitigation plans related to tooling and material readiness.
  • Support bid and proposal development, including scope definition, execution planning, and cost/schedule inputs.
  • Ensure complete and accurate documentation, including inventory records, packing lists, and shipment documentation.
  • Lead readiness reviews, audits, and inspections related to tooling delivery, material control, and logistics.
  • Drive issue resolution and continuous improvement to maintain delivery performance and milestone commitments.

About you

  • Engineering degree with 5-years project management experience preferable.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in material management, inventory control, logistics, packaging, or crating, preferably within nuclear or other regulated environments.
  • Experience of working closely with multi-disciplinary design teams.
  • Experience with inventory tracking systems, traceability requirements, and warehouse operations is an asset.
  • Ability to lead a delivery team in a positive and confident manner, demonstrating an appropriate level of knowledge, skills, and attitude.
  • Familiarity with nuclear QA programs and export control requirements is an asset.

  • Communication: Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Technical: Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation is an asset.

Work Locations:

  • Primary support at CANDU Tooling sites in Cambridge or Richmond Hill.
  • Periodic travel to Whitby and Mississauga offices is required.
