Job Description

Manages the planning, coordination, and execution of distribution‑level capital projects to ensure they are delivered on time, within budget, and in scope while maintaining compliance, mitigating risks, and supporting reliable system performance.

  • Monitors, and analyzes project schedules, costs, risks, quality, and key supporting data—such as timesheets, inspections, burdens, and documentation, to identify variances, resolve execution issues, and implement corrective actions that ensure timely, accurate, and compliant project delivery.

  • Leads cross‑functional coordination with internal teams, and external agencies to streamline workflows, address field and execution issues, maintain schedule integrity, and ensure uninterrupted project progress and closeout readiness.

  • Ensures strong project oversight by maintaining accurate documentation, clear stakeholder communication, and reliable reporting—including progress updates, milestone summaries, KPIs, and compliance‑related information—to support transparency, alignment, and informed decision‑making across all project stages.

  • Leads the planning and oversight of construction activities, inspections, emergency preparedness, and restoration efforts to enhance operational resilience, ensure field readiness, and support strategic organizational priorities.

  • Collaborates with the Regional Lead, participates in kickoff meetings, and centralizes project data from the Single Business Portal to support all regions.

  • Ensure inspection activities align with company standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices, while overseeing progress and addressing risks in real time.

  • Provides field inspectors with required project information, reviews budgets and actuals (including Ops timesheet validation), and generates regular Budget vs. Burdened Cost reports.

  • Ensures compliance with contract requirements, regulatory standards, inspection procedures, and industry best practices by aligning field activities with established policies, addressing risks in real time, and validating adherence to safety, quality, and audit expectations.

  • Leads, models and ensures consistent application of policies and regulatory standards across teams to support ethical operations and mitigate compliance risks.

  • Leads and validates the planning and execution of restoration and emergency preparedness activities to strengthen operational resilience and response capacity.

  • Assumes and oversees expanded duties aligned with organizational priorities and professional scope to drive departmental effectiveness and strategic alignment.

Additional Job Description:

Education

  • Bachelor’s in Business, Engineering, Project Management, or related field from an accredited university.

Experience

  • 5 years of experience in project management or related experience preferably in a large electrical utility environment, with knowledge in design, construction, and commissioning of transmission, distribution systems, equipment, with at least 3 years' in a Project Associate role, similar role or proven experience working in project management.

  • Experience developing project plans, timelines, and deliverables using project management tools.

  • Additional education may substitute for the required experience when it aligns with the competencies and knowledge necessary for the role:

    • Master’s degree in a relevant field may substitute when accompanied by a minimum of 3 years of experience performing related functions and at least 2 years of experience working as Project Manager or 5 years as a Project Coordinator.

    • Bachelor's degree accompanied by a Professional Certification PMP, CAMP may substitute when accompanied by a minimum of 3 years of experience performing related functions and at least 2 years of experience working as Project Manager or 5 years as a Project Coordinator.

  • Experience working on Regulated Utilities and managing project interfaces with Regulatory Commission and Independent System Operators, International Aid Agency Interfaces on Large Utility Scale is preferred.

Competencies (Skills)

  • Expert knowledge in Project Controls scheduling, tasks development, WBS, Costs, Estimating, Risks and Reporting (to Regulatory and Federal Aid Agencies).

  • Strong communication abilities, with proficiency in presenting, facilitating meetings, and collaborating effectively across all organizational levels and stakeholder groups through multiple channels.

  • Knowledge of OH&S safety regulations and comprehensive understanding of applicable municipal, state, and federal legislation.

  • Excellent organizational, time‑management, planning, interpersonal, and leadership skills.

  • Proven capability in project execution and contractor management, ensuring quality, compliance, and timely delivery.

  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making abilities, with attention to accuracy and detail.

  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision while maintaining high performance and accountability.

  • Proficient in MS Office Suite - Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, MS Projects, Primavera P6, Computer based Earned Value.

  • Strong English communication skills (both oral and written).

Licenses/Certifications

  • Valid Driver’s License

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or Program Management Professional (PgMP) certification. Is preferred.
