Job Description

Essential Job Functions

  • Manage day-to-day execution of industrial project shipments, including containerised cargo and occasional OOG/heavy lift movements.
  • Coordinate multimodal transportation activities, including ocean freight, trucking, and specialised project cargo handling.
  • Work closely with clients and internal teams to ensure timely shipment planning, documentation, and execution.
  • Monitor shipment schedules, identify risks, and proactively resolve operational issues to maintain project timelines.
  • Coordinate with carriers, terminals, warehouses, and vendors to ensure smooth cargo movement.
  • Support the handling of power infrastructure, cooling equipment, and modular components for data centre projects.
  • Maintain project documentation, including shipment trackers, SOPs, execution plans, and status reports.
  • Ensure compliance with local import/export regulations, customs requirements, and safety standards.
  • Track project costs and support operational reporting related to project logistics activities.
  • Act as the operational focal point for assigned projects, escalating issues when necessary.
  • Support adherence to operational standards, SOPs, and best practices for project logistics execution.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including operations, chartering, engineering, and commercial teams, to support project delivery.

Other Skills/Abilities

  • Experience coordinating project logistics or industrial freight shipments
  • Strong operational knowledge of container shipping, trucking coordination, and freight forwarding processes
  • Familiarity with multimodal transport planning, including ocean freight and OOG shipments
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple shipment schedules
  • Effective communication skills when working with internal teams, vendors, and clients
  • Ability to troubleshoot operational challenges and respond quickly to shipment issues
  • Proficiency in shipment tracking systems, project management tools, and Microsoft Office
  • Japanese language proficiency at business level required.
  • Professional working proficiency in English is preferred.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, or related field preferred
  • 5 – 8 years of experience in freight forwarding, project logistics, or industrial cargo operations
  • Experience managing containerised cargo movements and project shipments preferred
  • Exposure to data centre, infrastructure, or industrial project logistics is an advantage

Certification and Licenses

  • PMP or industry certifications preferred but not required.
