Rockland Trust is seeking a Project Manager III to lead the planning, execution, and delivery of complex technology initiatives that support the Bank's strategic objectives. This role manages cross-functional teams, oversees multiple concurrent projects, and ensures delivery on time, within budget, and in compliance with regulatory and security requirements. The Senior Project Manager partners closely with business leaders, technology teams, vendors, risk management, and executive stakeholders to deliver high-quality technology solutions that enhance customer experience and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of large, complex technology projects and programs from initiation through implementation and post-production support.
  • Develop and manage project plans, schedules, budgets, resource plans, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, requirements, and success criteria.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams, including software development, infrastructure, cybersecurity, architecture, data management, operations, and third-party vendors.
  • Monitor project progress using key performance indicators and provide regular status reporting to senior leadership and governance committees.
  • Identify, assess, and manage project risks, issues, dependencies, and change requests while implementing appropriate mitigation plans.
  • Ensure compliance with banking regulations, internal policies, cybersecurity standards, audit requirements, and technology governance processes.
  • Facilitate executive steering committee meetings and communicate project health, milestones, financials, and decisions.
  • Manage project budgets, forecasts, vendor contracts, and financial reporting.
  • Support Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery methodologies as appropriate for each initiative.
  • Drive continuous improvement of project management practices, governance, and delivery standards.
  • Mentor junior project managers and contribute to the development of the Project Management Office (PMO).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 6+ years of project management experience, with at least 3 years leading enterprise technology initiatives within banking or financial services.
  • Proven experience delivering complex technology projects involving multiple business units and technical teams.
  • Strong understanding of banking operations, digital banking, payments, lending, regulatory compliance, information security, and risk management.
  • Experience managing multimillion-dollar project budgets and geographically distributed teams.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
  • Experience with Agile frameworks (Scrum, SAFe, Kanban) and traditional Waterfall methodologies.
  • Proficiency with project management tools such as Smartsheet, Jira, Azure DevOps, Microsoft Project, Clarity, or Planview.
