PermanentFinning Canada is seeking a permanent, full-time Project Manager III (Senior Project Manager) based in Edmonton. This role is responsible for leading complex, strategic initiatives and delivering high-impact projects across the organization.

As a trusted delivery leader, you will manage cross-functional teams and work closely with business owners, process owners, and external partners to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget. You will proactively identify risks and issues, analyze root causes, implement effective solutions, and ensure sustainable change that drives long-term business value.

Major Job Functions:

  • Lead and manage multiple complex projects in alignment with Finning’s Project Management and Continuous Improvement methodologies.

  • Collaborate with Business Owners, Process Owners, and key stakeholders to develop and maintain project charters, roadmaps, and delivery plans.

  • Ensure approved projects are delivered on time, on budget, and in accordance with business objectives.

  • Champion project management discipline, continuous improvement, and change management practices across the organization.

  • Coordinate and lead Project Leads and cross-functional teams on larger initiatives, working closely with the Process Improvement Manager where applicable.

  • Develop and manage approved project programs and roadmaps for assigned business areas.

  • Provide guidance, coaching, and mentorship to Project Leads to support skill development and capability building.

  • Support project teams and stakeholders with project management tools and best practices, including planning, reporting, risk management, and execution tracking.

  • Apply data, tools, and structured analysis to identify opportunities for efficiency, effectiveness, and alternative delivery approaches.

  • Ensure adherence to established Finning Project Management, Continuous Improvement, and Change Management standards.

  • Act as a role model for ethical behavior, professionalism, and confidentiality when representing Finning internally and externally.

Mandatory (Must-Have) Skills:

  • Proven experience in Process Management, Change Management, Quality Management, and Lean methodologies (e.g., Lean Six Sigma).

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with C‑suite executives and senior leadership, including influencing decisions and managing executive stakeholders.

  • Strong knowledge and practical application of project management methodologies, including Waterfall, Agile, and hybrid delivery models, as well as business improvement frameworks.

  • Track record of successfully leading both Agile and Waterfall projects, including complex, cross-functional initiatives.

  • 8–10 years of project management experience, with a strong focus on IT projects, technology-enabled initiatives, business transformation, and change management.

  • Progressive business experience with increasing levels of responsibility over five or more years.

  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Visio.

  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 is considered an asset.

  • Experience using Microsoft Project and Azure DevOps is considered an asset.

  • Consulting experience is considered an asset.
