The Project Manager III is part of the Technical Operations team. This role provides leadership and coordination across design transfer, new product introduction (NPI), and product lifecycle management activities, supporting a portfolio of genetic science products.

The Project Manager III leads cross-functional teams of scientists and operational staff to deliver projects in line with business objectives, quality standards, and regulatory requirements. Acting as a key interface between functions, Global Technical Operations and Stakeholders. The role ensures effective planning, execution, and communication to enable successful product transfers, sustainment, and continuous improvement across the site.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver design transfer, NPI, and sustaining projects in alignment with defined timelines and business goals.
  • Develop, maintain, and prioritise project plans, ensuring effective resource allocation and alignment with operational objectives.
  • Identify, manage, and escalate project risks and issues, driving timely resolution to minimise impact on delivery.
  • Coordinate validation, verification, risk assessment, and change control activities associated with new and existing products.
  • Support the transfer of new products and processes into manufacturing, ensuring readiness across functions.
  • Author and review project and product documentation (e.g. SOPs, risk assessments, validation documentation), incorporating input from Quality Assurance and Manufacturing.
  • Ensure all projects comply with site Quality Management Systems, regulatory requirements, and internal standards.
  • Monitor project performance and implement improvements to enhance efficiency, delivery, and overall effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with on-site and off-site stakeholders to ensure alignment and clear communication throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills to build and maintain trusted partnerships
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement by challenging existing processes and identifying opportunities for optimisation.
  • Promote and adhere to site safety standards, including hazardous waste management and good housekeeping practices within manufacturing environments.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor of Science (BSc) in a scientific or engineering discipline.
  • Typically 3+ years of project management experience within life sciences, biotechnology, or medical device environments
  • Experience in Prince2 or PMP is desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience managing cross-functional projects within operations, validation, quality, or manufacturing settings.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes, supply chains, and product lifecycle management.
  • Experience working within regulated environments (e.g. ISO 9001, ISO 13485, GMP) preferred.
  • Knowledge of PCR chemistry and DNA preparation technologies is advantageous.
  • Experience applying Lean or continuous improvement methodologies is desirable.
