The Project Manager II – Technology & Operations serves as the operational owner of technology initiatives across the division, acting as the primary bridge between field operations, business leadership, and IT. You will drive the adoption, governance, and continuous improvement of the systems and data infrastructure that support operational decision-making, workforce management, and business development.
This position is firmly grounded in project management and operational discipline. The ideal candidate brings strong business process thinking, cross-functional stakeholder management, and a practical understanding of automation and analytics
Essential Functions:
Project & Initiative Management
Own the planning, execution, and delivery of technology-enabled operational initiatives from initiation through adoption
Translate business requirements and operational pain points into structured project plans with clear milestones, owners, and success criteria
Manage cross-functional project teams and stakeholder groups, coordinating across operations, IT, finance, and field leadership
Maintain initiative dashboards, milestone trackers, and status reporting to keep leadership informed and accountable
Anticipate and mitigate project risks; escalate blockers with recommended paths forward
Systems & Technology Ownership (Business Side)
Serve as the business owner and primary operations-side liaison with IT for enterprise platforms and data tools
Lead evaluation, vetting, and implementation of new technology solutions aligned to operational and business development needs
Drive adoption and governance of existing platforms, including low-code/no-code tools, workload management systems, and reporting environments
Manage system roadmaps, enhancement backlogs, and change control processes on behalf of the business
Ensure data integrity, access governance, and alignment with organizational standards across business systems
Data, Analytics & Performance Visibility
Develop and maintain dashboards, scorecards, and reporting tools that provide leadership with actionable operational insights
Define, track, and refine KPIs across key business functions including operations, workforce, safety, and client delivery
Establish consistent data inputs and workflows to improve forecasting, capacity planning, and resource alignment
Facilitate pre-alignment of metrics with operational leaders to reduce reporting friction and improve decision-making cadence
Automation & AI Enablement
Identify opportunities to apply automation and AI to existing workflows, including data processing, reporting, document handling, and operational forecasting
Pilot, vet, and coordinate implementation of automation solutions that deliver measurable productivity or quality improvements
Partner with IT and leadership to establish governance and best practices for responsible use of AI and automation tools
Ensure that automation initiatives are operationally grounded, value-focused, and aligned with business priorities
Process Improvement & Governance
Document current-state and future-state workflows to support process standardization and system design
Drive simplification of business processes enabled by technology, reducing manual effort and cycle time
Develop change management plans, user training, and adoption support for new tools and processes
Leadership & Stakeholder Partnership
Serve as a strategic partner to vice presidents and operational leadership, providing timely and accurate analysis to support decision-making
Prepare executive-ready project summaries, risk narratives, and initiative updates for senior audiences
Build cross-functional relationships that support alignment between field operations, back-office functions, and enterprise goals
Influence without direct authority; earn credibility through expertise, follow-through, and results
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
3+ years of experience in project management, operational support, business systems, or a related discipline
Demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional initiatives with multiple stakeholders from initiation through delivery
Experience working with technology and automation solutions from the business side
Strong ability to translate operational needs into structured plans, requirements, and measurable outcomes
Proficiency in data analysis and reporting; ability to build and interpret dashboards or operational scorecards
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present to senior leadership
Preferred Qualifications:
PMP certification or equivalent project management training
Experience with low-code/no-code platforms such as QuickBase, Smartsheet, or similar (configuration and governance, not necessarily development)
Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or comparable platforms
Experience with AI-based tools or workflow automation (e.g., process automation, decision support, analytics augmentation)
Working knowledge of integrations, APIs, and data flows between enterprise systems
Telecom, engineering, construction, or utility industry experience
Change management and user adoption experience

The compensation range for this position starts at $80,000.00.
