Standard work hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This position may require occasional travel to offsite locations, including sites outside of Winston-Salem, as needed. The individual may also need to work evenings or weekends on occasion to accommodate enrolled human subjects. A valid North Carolina driver’s license is required.

Pay Range

$28.55 - $42.85

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Project Manager I to join our research team. The best candidates will have skills to coordinate study activities, take initiative, and contribute to successful research operations in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support enrollment activities and assist with overseeing the day-to-day work of Clinical Study Coordinators (CSCs), ensuring alignment with study goals and timelines under supervision.
  • Assist with participant engagement efforts, including scheduling, tracking progress, and supporting timely study completion and data collection.
  • Monitor participant flow and study processes with guidance, identifying opportunities for improvement and escalating issues as needed.
  • Contribute to progress reports and research documentation for NIH and other stakeholders with directions from senior team members.
  • Meet weekly with Program Manager to review progress and plan next steps related to study progress
  • Responsible for research related activities per protocol including: recruitment, eligibility screening, data collection and quality assurance.
  • Support regulatory processes, including preparing materials and assisting with staff training.
  • Ordering study supplies as needed
  • Take initiative in completing assigned tasks and seeking opportunities to expand skills and responsibilities.

Mentorship:

  • Mentor and assist staff (as needed) to achieve research recruitment goals.
  • Assist in coordinating research activities according to study protocols, including recruitment, eligibility screening, and data collection.
  • Review study coordinator calendars and enrollment to find opportunities to increase enrollment
  • Collaborate with the team to review study progress, identify challenges, and support planning for next steps.

Research Operations:

  • Participate in research execution, including interacting with participants and supporting data collection activities. This includes administering questionnaires, psychological interviews, and processing samples
  • Conduct telephone screenings to evaluate potentially eligible participants for enrollment
  • Review documentation of adverse events related to participants
  • Remain familiar with all regulatory procedures
  • Review progress and research goals with Program Manager and PI to achieve research recruitment goals.

Duties may expand to perform other research and administrative tasks as the programs evolve further.
