Job Description

As a Project Manager for Grid System Integration (GSI) you will be responsible for the end-to-end execution of small and medium-sized substation projects, maintaining full accountability for project delivery, financial performance, and customer satisfaction.

This role requires you to manage complex project lifecycles, including resource planning, budgeting, and cash forecasting, while strictly adhering to company standards for EHS and compliance. Operating with professional autonomy within established procedures, you will serve as a central coordinator across a global network, bridging communications between lead centers in Europe and Asia and back-office support teams in India and East Asia.

Ultimately, you will need to leverage your leadership skills to navigate a highly demanding, multi-disciplinary environment to ensure project objectives are met successfully.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Responsible for overseeing the projects and direct or indirect leadership and/or management of project resources for small-medium sized projects (size in relation to GE company) that may include equipment-only, suites of products or turnkey projects.
  • Clear Management of the project scope, program, cost to complete (CTC), including Project Risk & Opportunities (R&O)
  • Fulfil the Project Order to Specification, Budget and time, Ensuring Customer Satisfactions, Achieving Project Objectives for Profitability, Sales Turnover and Project Free Cash Flow
  • Prepare Project Acceptance and Project Review Documents in line with Business and Unit Policies.
  • Carry out the review of the project progress for all ongoing projects on regular basis and conduct the Project Monthly review with the Region Leadership team
  • Developing in-depth knowledge of technical discipline. Uses prior experience and acquired technical expertise to execute policy/strategy.
  • In-depth understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work.
  • In-depth understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.
  • Ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters but with guidance.
  • Ensure the projects are executed within the budget with quality in compliance with the local and GEV regulations and EHS requirements
  • Organize meetings with customers to discuss and resolve issues if necessary.
  • Maintain good working relationships with customers, managers and engineers.
  • Provide customer care and ensure permanent customer satisfaction
  • Support the Sales team on the tenders, providing the budget for the execution and participate in tender clarification meetings as and when required.
  • Prepare the resource planning for the projects and ensure the right resources are in place for the project execution
  • Ensure the coordination with all discipline on project execution such as engineering, procurements, construction at local /region levels

Required Qualifications / Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience managing international, multi-disciplinary projects, with deep knowledge of the technical and contractual requirements of high-voltage substation projects.
  • Strong technical understanding of electrical networks and T&D technologies, including AIS/GIS switchgear, transformers, and related cabling.
  • Proven leadership ability to manage, organize, and develop multiple teams, including experience with staffing and training plans.
  • Expertise in core project management functions, specifically planning, resource allocation, financial management, and legal/contractual administration.
  • Proficiency in project management software and methodologies, such as MS Project and Primavera.
  • Solid understanding of international standards (e.g., IEC) balanced with knowledge of local market preferences and practices.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of T&D products and systems, with a specific focus on transmission and distribution substations.
