Eaton’s ES GEIS division is currently seeking a Project Manager, GEIS supporting New Product Introduction (NPI), Value Analysis Value Engineering (VAVE), and Operations (STP) focused investments. This is a hybrid role for candidates currently residing in Highland, IL or Troy, IL. Relocation is not provided for this position.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $97000 - $143000 a year. Please note the salary information shown is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

What you’ll do:

The Project Manager is responsible for leading the successful execution of New Product Introduction (NPI), Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VAVE), and Standard Transition (STP) operations projects within GEIS Americas, with a primary focus on electro-mechanical initiatives. This role drives customer satisfaction, continuous improvement, and strong financial performance through effective program, contract, and stakeholder management. Key responsibilities include maintaining proactive coordination with cross-functional teams to track schedules and milestones, delivering comprehensive project status reports to leadership, and ensuring accurate forecasting along with disciplined control of project timelines and budgets.

In this role you will:

Project Planning, Execution & Governance

  • Lead electro-mechanical, cross-functional product development and operations transformation initiatives, including facilities and manufacturing investments.
  • Own P&L for assigned NPI, VAVE, and STP programs, with full Responsibility, Authority, and Accountability (RAA) for delivering scope across technical, schedule, cost, and quality objectives.
  • Plan and execute projects to defined scope, schedule, budget, and quality targets; develop and maintain integrated project schedules, key milestones, and critical path.
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation, metrics, and action logs to support phase gates, baseline/change management, PM reviews, and IPT execution.
  • Monitor program health (Green/Yellow/Red), proactively manage risks, and deliver clear, data-driven status reporting to leadership and business stakeholders.
  • Ensure adherence to standard program management processes, tools, and best practices; drive continuous improvement and lessons learned.

Manufacturing Transformation & Relocations

  • Lead execution of manufacturing line, equipment, and material flow relocations, including move sequencing, shutdown planning, restart activities, and cross-site coordination.
  • Oversee equipment disassembly, transport, installation, requalification, and site readiness in partnership with engineering and operations.
  • Support site build-outs, consolidations, or closures, ensuring smooth operational handoffs with minimal disruption to production, safety, and customer delivery.

Cross-Functional Leadership & Resource Management

  • Lead Integrated Project Teams (IPTs), fostering collaboration, rapid issue resolution, and performance-driven coaching and feedback.
  • Coordinate resources across Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, EHS, IT, Finance, HR, and external partners; resolve conflicts and optimize utilization.
  • Manage dependencies, escalate risks as needed, and partner with global program teams to ensure on-time delivery.

Financial, Risk & Compliance Management

  • Track project costs, capital expenditures, and purchase orders against budgets; ensure accurate forecasting and financial control.
  • Identify and mitigate risks across technical, schedule, cost, and safety dimensions.
  • Ensure all activities meet EHS, safety, quality, and regulatory requirements, including contractor compliance, permits, and pre-task risk assessments.

Communication & Operational Excellence

  • Deliver clear, timely communication on project status, risks, cost performance, and milestones to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Support change management and stakeholder alignment during project execution and operational transitions.
  • Promote a culture of execution discipline, accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

Basic (Required) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience in Program Management; or a combination of Program Management with progressive levels of accountability and responsibility in Manufacturing, Operations, Continuous Improvement, and/or Manufacturing Engineering within a manufacturing environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrates strong proficiency in program and project management methodologies, tools, and best practices, with a focus on effective execution and governance.
  • Proven ability to plan, lead, and deliver complex technical development projects within cross-functional team environments.
  • Extensive experience leading large-scale facility transformation and capital expenditure (CapEx) initiatives from concept through completion.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with a track record of delivering clear, concise status reporting and executive-level presentations.
  • Solid technical knowledge of manufacturing processes, including machining, CNC operations, casting, metallurgy, plastic molding, foundry operations, and finishing techniques (e.g., plating, painting, coatings, and burnishing).
