
Veolia Taiwan is excited to announce an internal opportunity for an experienced Project Manager to lead our GAC (Granular Activated Carbon) reactivation pilot project. Based in Kaohsiung, this role oversees the full lifecycle from system design and construction to operational startup.
We are looking for a driven professional to manage daily project activities, ensure regulatory compliance, and provide commercial support for chemical leasing models. This is a unique chance to lead a transformative circular economy project while working closely with government agencies, contractors, and cross-functional teams to achieve key milestones.
Technical & Operations:
Manage all phases of the pilot project from design through construction to operational startup.
Oversee the design and engineering of the GAC reactivation pilot system and ensure quality standards are met.
Develop and implement operational procedures for the pilot facility.
Manage the permitting process and obtain all necessary licenses and regulatory approvals.
Coordinate with government agencies, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations.
Commercial Development:
Provide commercial support in developing chemical leasing agreements with identified potential clients.
Support the development of GAC recycling agreements and service contracts.
Work with the business development team to structure pilot trials with prospective customers and assist in negotiating terms and conditions for partnerships.
Gather technical and operational data to support commercial proposals.
Project Management:
Develop project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans, monitoring progress and implementing corrective actions as needed.
Prepare regular project updates, status reports, and performance metrics for internal stakeholders and senior management.
Lead the project team and facilitate cross-functional collaboration to ensure all activities are effectively managed and aligned with project goals.
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Environmental, or related field).
5+ years of project management experience, preferably in water/wastewater treatment or environmental projects.
Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to lead project teams and facilitate cross-functional collaboration.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively with government agencies, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
Strong understanding of pilot-scale system design, operation, and regulatory permitting processes.
Commercial awareness and experience supporting business development activities, including chemical leasing or service-based models.
Proficiency in project management tools and resource allocation planning.
Fluency in English and Mandarin is required to ensure seamless communication with stakeholders and senior management.
Willingness to be based in Kaohsiung and ability to work in a multidisciplinary and multicultural environment.
Preferred Skills and Knowledge:
PMP (Project Management Professional) certification is highly preferred.
In-depth knowledge of activated carbon systems and GAC reactivation processes.
Experience with Taiwanese environmental regulations, permitting, and licensing procedures.
Proven track record of successful pilot project delivery from design through to operational startup.
Understanding of recycling, circular economy principles, and contract development for service contracts.
Experience in negotiating terms and conditions for commercial partnerships and leasing agreements.
