Job Description

The Project Manager Fleet Interventions is responsible for the end-to-end execution of the scope of work for a vessel intervention period (maintenance, repair, mobilisation, conversion, installation of mission equipment, ..) and redelivery. This role ensures that all projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to stringent quality and safety standards, while also obtaining high vessel performance and reliability post-redelivery.

Your responsibilities

  • Strategic Project Leadership:Employ exceptional organizational and planning skills to manage project complexities, ensure the vessel's optimal performance upon redelivery, oversee the entire project scope for efficient and effective task execution, and conduct daily meetings focused on progress and optimization

  • Stakeholder Management for Project Advancement Engage in consultative discussions with the Technical Works Manager and Technical Supervisors, and seek advice from Procurement and the Vessel Manager, while maintaining outstanding communication with team members and keeping the vessel manager informed about project progress and budget.

  • Empowering Team Leadership:Coordinate and manage the project team, ensuring their performance and wellbeing, provide necessary coaching and feedback, and exhibit strong leadership to foster a team-oriented environment

  • Comprehensive Finance Control Take charge of financial oversight and cost optimization, manage Budget Change Requests with support from Finance and the Vessel Manager, and perform thorough financial analysis to ensure the project's financial health and compliance, culminating in the final invoice responsibility.

  • Contractor Management Ensure strict adherence to yard and subcontractor contracts, proactively manage additional work requests, and consult with Procurement and the Vessel Manager on pricing and approval of Variation Orders.

  • Motivate the project team to apply a contractor management schedule driven approach to reach a shorter FI project within budget and scope.

  • Efficient Claim Management Handle and resolve claims effectively with input from Supervisors/Finance, keeping the Vessel Manager well-informed throughout the process.

  • Reporting: Report weekly progress to Project SteerCo members

  • ITP Monitoring:Monitor the overall progress of the Inspections and Test Plan (ITP) on a weekly basis.

  • Preparation Phase Based at HQ for 9 to 12 months

  • Execution Phase On site for 2-3 months, with a working regime a 2:1 rotation.

Your profile

  • Minimum basic technical knowledge of Ship repair, preferably in dredging and offshore installation vessels.

  • Experience in turnaround repair/ conversion projects (Onshore industry or Offshore sector) is highly advantageous, but not mandatory.

  • Strong skills in finance control.

  • Overall project management experience, including steering on scheduling/ planning.

  • People management Skills with the ability to shape a coherent project team.

  • PMP Project Management Professional training is an advantage.
