Job Description

The Hongkong and Shanghai Hotels (“HSH” – owner and operator of The Peninsula Hotels, The Repulse Bay and many high-profile assets globally) is seeking to hire a highly motivated Project Manager to lead our Finance Transformation initiatives. The role serves as a vital bridge between Finance and IT, driving the modernisation of our financial systems, processes, and reporting capabilities. This role will be engaged as an independent contractor.

Key Accountabilities

• Lead and support Group-level finance transformation projects from start to finish; monitor and track project milestones, mitigate risks and issues to ensure delivery within established timelines and budgets.
• Review existing finance processes and workflows to identify opportunities for optimisation and automation.
• Collaborate closely with the Finance teams, IT, and external vendors to ensure alignment on project objectives.
• Oversee the implementation and enhancement of financial systems / tools for Group accounting, financial consolidation, managerial reporting and budgeting & forecasting.
• Coordinate data migration and retention, ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and precise mapping from legacy platforms to new systems.
• Facilitate change management by coordinating User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and delivering comprehensive end-user training and materials for new tools.
• Support go-live activities for system rollout and post-implementation reviews to sustain transformation benefits.
• Assist in the preparation and delivery of clear, comprehensive presentations and project updates for Steering Committees, senior management, and end-users.

General Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or Information Technology.
• 3+ years of project management experience in finance transformation, accounting, or ERP system implementations. Proven track record of guiding teams through system and process transformations.
• Solid foundation in finance and accounting, with sound understanding of core financial processes, including bookkeeping, consolidation, budgeting, and management reporting.
• Hands-on experience with financial software and reporting platforms (e.g., Infor SunSystems, Infor EPM, Hyperion, Power BI) is highly advantageous.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; ability to bridge the gap between technical IT concepts and finance operations.
• Professional certifications in project management (e.g., PMP, Agile/Scrum) or accounting (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CIMA) are highly advantageous.
