Macmahon Surface Mining Australia is calling for experienced Project Managers and Site Senior Executives (SSEs) who want to lead high performing teams across some of the Bowen Basin’s most significant open cut operations. With more than 60 years of proven capability in mine planning, drill and blast, load and haul, and whole of site maintenance, Macmahon continues to set the benchmark for safe, efficient, and innovative surface mining delivery.

About the Role

• Lead operational delivery across open‑cut mining activities, ensuring production targets, statutory obligations, and client expectations are consistently met while maintaining a strong safety-first culture.
• Drive people leadership and site performance, building capability within supervisory teams, strengthening culture, and fostering high standards of communication, accountability, and engagement across the workforce.
• Oversee risk, compliance, and continuous improvement, ensuring robust controls, effective incident management, and the implementation of initiatives that enhance safety, efficiency, and operational excellence.

About You

To succeed in this role, you’ll bring:

• Demonstrated experience leading large operational teams within open‑cut mining, with strong knowledge of risk, compliance, and safety management systems.
• Clear, confident communicator who builds capability, strengthens culture, and gets the best out of teams in fast paced environments.
• Solutions focused, commercially aware, and committed to delivering safe, efficient, and compliant results every shift.
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering, Business, WHS, or a related discipline (or equivalent industry experience).
• SSE qualification (Qld) or the ability to obtain required statutory competencies for site senior leadership roles.
