UGL's Utilities Operations & Maintenance business is growing rapidly across Victoria, and we're looking for an experienced Project Manager to help drive the next phase of that growth.

This is more than a delivery role.

You'll take ownership of electricity distribution and transmission projects from tender through to close-out while working directly with major network clients including Powercor, AusNet and emerging opportunities with United Energy.

Why this role

  • Join a growing Victorian business with significant expansion plans and a strong pipeline of work.
  • Take ownership of projects from pricing and planning through to delivery and financial close-out.
  • Work directly with some of Australia's largest electricity network providers.
  • Be trusted to make decisions and execute with autonomy.
  • Help shape how projects are delivered as the business continues to grow.
  • Genuine career progression opportunities.
  • Work alongside experienced operational, engineering and field delivery teams who are passionate about what they do

About the role

You'll lead a portfolio of electricity network projects across Victoria, responsible for the complete project lifecycle, from tender support, planning, workforce management, cost control, client engagement and project delivery.

This role would suit a Project Manager who has successfully delivered electricity network projects through the full project lifecycle and is looking for greater ownership, autonomy and scope.

Initially, you'll work across a mix of distribution network projects while supporting the growth of our United Energy portfolio and broader Victorian operations. As the business expands, you'll have the opportunity to help build and lead larger delivery teams.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead electricity distribution and transmission projects through the full project lifecycle, from tendering and planning through to delivery, close-out and client handover.

  • Manage project performance across safety, commercial, quality and delivery outcomes, including budgets, forecasting, risk management, variations and compliance.

  • Coordinate project resources to achieve successful outcomes, including internal delivery teams, 4supervisors, field crews, subcontractors and suppliers.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders, ensuring clear communication, trusted partnerships and high levels of customer satisfaction.

  • Support business growth and continuous improvement initiatives through tendering, pricing, operational improvements and leadership of project teams.

What we offer

  • Hybrid work environment when possible.
  • Access our OneRewards Discount Program.
  • Discounted Medibank health insurance.
  • Participate in our Wellness Program with AIA Vitality.
  • Benefit from 16 weeks of paid primary parental leave.
  • Complimentary salary continuance insurance.
  • Shape your career with an Individual Development Plan.

About you

You've managed power network, electricity distribution, transmission or utilities infrastructure projects and understand what it takes to get work delivered safely, efficiently and commercially.

You're a practical, straight-talking Project Manager who enjoys owning outcomes and building strong relationships with clients and crews alike. You're comfortable managing competing priorities, making decisions and keeping projects moving forward.

  • Experience in a similar Project Manager position within electricity distribution, transmission, utilities or power network environments.

  • Strong commercial acumen with experience managing budgets, forecasting, variations and project costs.

  • Experience managing subcontractors, field crews and project stakeholders.

  • A solid understanding of project planning, scheduling, risk and delivery management.

  • The ability to confidently communicate with clients and build trusted relationships and travel to electricity depots around Victoria.
