What’s the role?

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, Westpac Pacific, you’ll apply Westpac’s enterprise project management frameworks to ensure projects are delivered safely, compliantly, and embedded into business‑as‑usual.

This is a full-time, up to 24 month fixed-term opportunity based in Sydney, where international travel to PNG/Fiji would be required.

Key responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Deliver projects end‑to‑end within agreed scope, time, cost, quality, and risk.

  • Define clear scope, outcomes, and benefits aligned to strategy.
  • Manage budgets, estimates, forecasts, and vendor financial performance.
  • Identify, manage, and escalate risks and issues as required.
  • Engage and influence stakeholders to maintain alignment and delivery momentum.
  • Lead and coordinate project resources and transition outcomes to the business.

What do I need?

  • Experience in a large, complex organisation, ideally within financial services.
  • Proven delivery of low‑complexity projects (up to ~$5M, up to 12 months).
  • Strong capability in governance, risk, cost control, estimation, and stakeholder management.
  • Experience managing vendors and delivery partners.
  • Tertiary qualification in business, management, or technology (or equivalent experience).
  • Project management certification (AIPM CPM, PMI PMP, or equivalent) desirable.
