The Project Manager for Design and Construction will work collaboratively with Operations, Engineering, EHS, and others to ensure proposed projects meet TCEQ, EHS, operating, efficiency, and other requirements. The Project Manager for Design and Construction is a service and solution provider who works with others in order to improve customer service, safety, efficiency, and the bottom line. The Project Manager for Design and Construction is esponsible for all aspects of planning and completing complex water and wastewater system improvements at systems owned and operated by SouthWest Water Company, as well as other operational and engineering projects.

The Project Manager for Design and Construction is responsible for:
SKILLS & ABILITIES
General Has ability to perform water and wastewater industry routine engineering practices and supervise personnel as assigned. Must be detail and goal oriented and able to independently plan and execute projects with minimal supervision. Often under deadline pressure, must be able to work effectively with several projects simultaneously. Must be able to prepare written reports, letters and master plans.
Computer Skills Knowledge of Microsoft Office Software, Microsoft Project, CAD software and/or other industry current and related software, data base program and hydraulic analysis software is required.
Experience A minimum of 5- 10 years in the water/wastewater industry or related field experience is required and construction experience is preferred, including reviewing shop drawings and managing change orders. Experience with land development projects, water and wastewater planning, and project cost estimating is desired. Must be able to work well with internal and external team members, including land developers, City Engineers and Public Works Directors concerning capital improvement planning/ projects. Experience performing water and wastewater industry routine engineering practices and supervise personnel, as assigned.
Education B. S. Degree in Civil (or a related) Engineering is required. Registration as a Texas professional engineer is preferred.
Driver’s License Hold a valid Texas driver’s license with acceptable driving record as determined by Company insurance carrier; Familiar with safety practices and rules applicable to job duties.
