The Department of Community Health Sciences (CHS) is the leading unit of its type in Pakistan, recognized regionally and internationally for the relevance, quality, and extent of its work in support of public health and the development of primary health care systems. It comprises of five major operational sections: Epidemiology & biostatistics, Health policy & management, Population & reproductive health, Environmental health & climate change, and non-communicable diseases & mental health.

This is a grant funded contractual position.

Responsibilities:

You will be responsible to:

  • lead the administrative and operational management of the project to ensure timely and efficient implementation
  • coordinate project planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting in collaboration with the Principal Investigator, Project Director, and key stakeholders
  • oversee project administration, including procurement, logistics, asset management, documentation, and human resource coordination
  • supervise administrative, finance, and logistics staff and support recruitment, onboarding, and performance monitoring of project personnel
  • coordinate workshops, field activities, stakeholder consultations, meetings, travel, and other project logistics
  • monitor project budgets and coordinate with the finance team to ensure timely processing of expenditures, invoices, and financial documentation
  • ensure compliance with AKU policies, donor requirements, and project governance by maintaining accurate records and supporting audits
  • liaise with government departments, implementation partners, consultants, and other stakeholders to facilitate smooth project implementation
  • prepare and review project reports, progress updates, presentations, and administrative documentation
  • identify operational risks, recommend corrective actions, and strengthen project management systems to ensure achievement of project milestones and deliverables.

Requirements:

You should have:

  • Master's degree in Public Administration, Project Management, Business Administration, or a related field from an HEC-recognized institution
  • minimum five years of experience managing donor-funded health, research, or development projects
  • experience in project administration, operations management, procurement, budgeting, logistics, and compliance
  • demonstrated experience working with government institutions, development partners, and international donors
  • strong project management, leadership, organizational, and stakeholder coordination skills
  • excellent communication, interpersonal, planning, and problem-solving abilities
  • proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools
  • familiarity with donor compliance requirements, preferably with Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation-funded projects
  • ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a multidisciplinary environment
  • willingness to travel across Punjab for project coordination, monitoring, and supervision
