Job Description

The Project Manager Construction and Commissioning (PMCC) is responsible for preparing and controlling the different phases of field operations for a project of construction in the hydroelectric industry. This role is crucial to ensure that site works are completed safely, at the required quality standards, on time and within budget. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in construction sites management, strong leadership skills, and the ability to solve problems quickly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in site work Strategy definition with the Project Director and Construction leader
  • Build the project financial and physical progress tracking structure for site works and update on a monthly basis.
  • Perform the Site schedule weekly updates in collaboration with the site manager and project planner
  • Coordinate the communications across the project teams to secure the project planning
  • Participate in customer’s meetings
  • Identify the Scope management changes for site works
  • Track the project site documentation for a timely issuance to the customer (methods, site quality plan, commissioning reports, etc)
  • Proactively engage in risk and opportunity assessment
  • Prepare the Request For Quotations and Purchase Requests for site works subcontracting
  • Manage specific vendor packages at site (piping, painting, machining, etc)
  • Prepare the detailed mobilization planning, with manpower loading requirement
  • Lead the mobilization tollgate reviews, represent C&C in all the project related reviews.
  • Proactively anticipate the activities required for site mobilization, including tooling definition, safety equipment, warehousing requirements, offices infrastructures, worker’s accommodations, and define the required specific site trainings
  • Prepare and lead the site demobilization at the end of the project

Required Qualifications:

  • College or Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical or Electrical)
  • 5+ years in Construction or Commissioning in the Energy Sector
  • Field Management experience
  • Excellent communication skills written and verbal in English
  • Availability to travel, 25% of time in Pakistan and abroad.
  • Strong and demonstrated EHS culture

Desired Characteristics:

  • Project Management Certification (PMP)
  • Experience with technical concepts (including Hydro Machines, turbines, generators, etc.)
  • Leadership skills
