About the Role

As a Project Manager at GEM Energy, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing all phases of project delivery. Working with the PMO team, you will be responsible for ensuring a project portfolio is completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

• Planning, organising, and coordinating the activities of renewable energy projects from initiation to completion.
• Developing, updating or maintaining detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Overseeing contractors, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Managing project resources, including labour, equipment, and materials, to optimise efficiency and productivity.
• Monitoring and controlling project progress, identifying and addressing any issues or risks that may impact timelines or quality.
• Collaborating with engineering, procurement, and operations teams to ensure seamless project execution and handover.
• Conducting regular site visits, inspections, and quality control checks to ensure adherence to design and construction standards.
• Managing stakeholder relationships and effectively communicating project updates, milestones, and deliverables.

You will also learn how to understand and administer complex contracts such as AS4902, learn more about safety and the solar industry more broadly.

As a successful candidate, you will bring:

• Qualification in Project Management, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience (2+ years) as a Project Manager, preferably in the solar industry.
• Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, codes, and regulations.
• Demonstrated project management skills, including planning, budgeting, and resource allocation.
• Excellent leadership abilities with the ability to motivate and influence internal and external project stakeholders
• Proficient in project management software and tools.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering projects safely, on time and on budget.
• Relevant quality standards must be achieved
• Relevant certifications (PMP etc.) are desirable.
• Exceptional computer literacy & proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (essential), Monday.com, Xero, etc.
• Ability to work dynamically individually and across a team. Ability to identify and prioritise project portfolio-level tasks daily
