Job Description
To assist with the project management of major corporate actions projects, and project manage other corporate actions – corporate actions include corporate floats, takeovers, buy-backs, rights issues, etc.
Key Accountabilities and main responsibilities
Strategic Focus
- Manage the execution, delivery and post offer phase of each corporate actions project, ensuring that each project is delivered on time and within budget, meeting all of the client’s agreed requirements by: negotiating optimal resources from internal and/or external suppliers; ensuring that identified resources are available (on time and within budget); and, all processes and procedures are duly followed and complied with.
- Manage the development of a costing model for each project and then regularly review to ensure that projects are delivered within budget.
Operational Management
- Lead the tasks associated with major corporate actions including project planning, including but not limited to analysing and documenting project risks, documenting a project’s base assumptions, identifying the optimum processing option, preparation of project documentation, managing the execution and delivery of the project.
- Ensure that all corporate action projects are professionally and thoroughly planned by scoping the project in accordance with the client and its adviser’s requirements, associated with the project, documenting a project’s base assumptions (e.g. likely volumes), identifying the optimum processing option, and accurately costing the resourcing requirements.
- For each project, ensure that professional and thorough project management documentation is prepared - including project plans, risk management strategies, assignment of roles and responsibilities, and internal/external supplier contracts and/or service level agreements – and ensure documentation is approved by senior Capital markets management prior to a project commencing.
- Conduct a hindsight review of major projects, including analysis of the costing and pricing model, documentation, management controls and ensure that standard project documentation is amended to adopt processes, etc. identified for modification and/or improvement.
- General administration and other duties including: attendance at operations/staff meetings; participating in corporate projects (e.g. OSCAR); drafting invoices; managing fees for work in progress; monthly provisioning; preparation of income estimates; reviewing third party invoices for corporate action projects; drafting/developing corporate action processes and procedures documentation; contributing to the preparation and implementation of a cost-efficient and effective business plan to ensure the Capital markets Group contributes positively to Link’s strategic plan; and, assisting with the preparation of Capital markets’ operating plans and budgets.
People Leadership
- Provide guidance to assigned Project Officers on the project plan, actions required and provide education where needed to ensure smooth delivery of project.
- Coach and support Project Officers and internal team on project delivery and proactively contribute to continuous learning and continuous process improvement.
Governance & Risk
- For each project ensure that all legislative, client, organisational and project requirements are met in a timely manner, and conduct Control Self-Assessment compliance reporting.

Experience & Personal Attributes
- Demonstrated experience in/knowledge of the securities industry and financial markets, including Corporations Law, SCH Business Rules and ASX Listing Rules.
- Experience in successful project management including planning, execution and successful delivery of projects, on time and within budget.
- Highly developed analytical and problem solving skills.
- Effective oral and written communication skills including strong negotiation skills, and the ability to liaise effectively at all levels with people from both within and outside APRL.
- Demonstrated high level of initiative, motivation and organisational skills, with the ability to determine work priorities, and work independently to strict deadlines.
- Proficiency with project management tools e.g. Microsoft Project, Microsoft Excel.
- Flexibility - able to meet demanding deadlines and work long hours to meet those deadlines, as required.
- Ability to prepare and maintain project budgets, analyse financial information and prepare concise management reports.
- Tertiary qualification in business/financial markets/law/securities industry.
