
Project Manager – CA31
Australian citizenship required. No PR or Work Visa holders. Must have an active Negative Vetting Level 1 (or higher) security clearance.
The project manager role will be responsible for delivering the Army Capability Manager's approved IBTN work packages for the Capability Enhancement Strategy (CES) program under the authority and responsibility of the CES program board. Manage, plan and monitor the day to day running of the CES program.
The Project Manager will be accountable under broad direction from the Trunk Systems Sustainment Manager to perform and achieve project management work within an integrated workforce. They are accountable to ensure they have knowledge of and compliance with legislative frameworks, government decision-making and Defence's mission and policy requirements.
The Project Manager will work independently with the opportunity for reasonable autonomy and accountability for the achievement of outcomes of their work. They will exercise both initiative and judgement in the interpretation of policy and in the application of practices and procedures. They will provide detailed project management technical, professional and policy advice in relation to complex work and contribute to strategic planning, program and project management and policy development.
The Project Manager will have considerable level of stakeholder engagement and will liaise with stakeholders in relation to complex or difficult issues. They will be required to identify, anticipate and respond to stakeholders' needs and expectations to achieve work unit and Defence outcomes.

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate a high degree of adaptability, initiative, and the ability to quickly understand complex programs and stakeholder environments. While a rapid learning capability is essential, the role will be supported by an experienced and collaborative team to enable a successful transition and ongoing delivery of outcomes.
CA31 - Battlespace Command System (BCS) is a critical enabler of the Land Combat System (LCS) that connect sensors, decision makers, and effectors in the Land Force by providing Sustainment support.
The CA31 fleet of products encompasses deployable data and voice communication systems used by the three Australian Defence Force (ADF) Services for battlespace command and control. It does not include strategic communication assets, those assets that are specific to maritime and aerospace platforms, or administrative commercial radios.
