Job Description

Responsible for various projects throughout the development lifecycle at Tatu City; from site identification in the master plan to delivery of infrastructure to both Tatu City and third-party real estate developments. This is done through effective management of the set budgets and timelines, in conjunction with service providers (where relevant), and then subsequent execution of development activities against these targets and eventual handing over.

Responsibilities

  • Acting as a primary point of contact with a client.
  • Preparing scope and fee proposals for multi-discipline projects
  • Managing and directing professional and technical staff to complete a wide variety of architectural and engineering projects.
  • Coordinating internal resources and third parties/subcontractors for capture and execution of projects.
  • Ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within scope and within budget while meeting client expectations with high quality
  • Developing and monitoring a detailed project plan and schedule to track progress and identify shortfalls in a timely manner.
  • Managing change and exercising appropriate escalation to management as necessary.
  • Performing risk management to minimize project risks.
  • Maintaining project documentation control.
  • Preparing, coordinating and facilitating project meeting: Preparing and maintaining the agenda with associated meeting minutes
  • Delivering positive financial metrics including as sold profit, billings and collection management.
  • Receiving positive client feedback in conjunction with achieving contractual performance and financial milestones across the lifespan of multiyear / multitask order contracts.
  • Oversight of project throughout the lifecycle of the project from identification to capture, execution, construction and closeout.
  • Performs work with minimal direction with periodic reporting to operations this includes evaluating progress and prepare a detailed weekly / monthly report
  • Control the cost and budget of the project including project invoicing and cash flow management
  • Ensure successful completion of the project in terms of the cost, quality and HSE.
  • Negotiate contracts with external vendors to reach profitable agreements
  • Obtain permits and licenses from appropriate authorities
  • Determine needed resources i.e. Manpower, Equipment and Materials from start to finish paying attention to budgetary limitations
  • Prepare the overall program of work and monitor it weekly in order to understand the delays and mitigate risks of delays
  • Hire contractors, other staff and allocate responsibilities. Coordinate subcontractors’ valuations and arrange weekly/monthly meetings for smooth progress of the project
  • Adhere to all health and safety standards and report issues
  • Responsible for quality assurance and quality control on site
  • Chair weekly and monthly meetings
  • Arrange for the Project Brief to be revised as necessary during Design development.
  • Incorporate any changes in the Project Brief and obtain the requisite Client authorization before issuance to the Project Brief to the Consultants.
  • Conduct reviews and provide staff feedback for continued improvement

Requirements

Skills and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in architectural or engineering or an equivalent degree.
  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience
  • Proven experience as a Project Manager for high raised, residential and commercial projects, warehouses
  • Familiarity with quality and health and safety standards
  • Experience of MS Office / Revit/ AutoCAD and MS Project
  • Certification in PMP or PRINCE2 is a plus
  • Outstanding communication and negotiation skills
