Job Description

Welcome to Acoufelt, LLC

Acoufelt specializes in delivering high-quality soft architectural acoustics solutions tailored to the unique needs of our clients. We work with contractors, ceiling sub-contractors, designers, and architects to provide products that enhance and transform interior workspaces. Our portfolio includes a range of premium soft architectural materials and products designed for commercial projects.

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Project Manager with experience in commercial interior construction, architectural finishes, or specialty building products to manage multiple customer projects. From the moment a project is designated as "Closed Won," the Project Manager will oversee execution through manufacturing, delivery, and closeout. This includes maintaining contract values, meeting project cost benchmarks, and delivering exceptional client satisfaction. You will act as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, coordinating shop drawings, approvals, product requirements, and delivery schedules as the project’s advocate and ensure internal milestones are met in a timely and accurate manner.

This is a fully onsite role based at Acoufelt’s North American Headquarters in Auburn Hills, Michigan. Remote or hybrid work is not available; applicants must be able to work onsite daily by their start date.

Core Responsibilities

  • Primary Liaison: Serve as the main point of contact between Acoufelt and clients for all assigned projects, ensuring clear and consistent communication.
  • Project Management: Oversee multiple commercial architectural product projects from the "Closed Won" stage through manufacturing, delivery, and closeout, ensuring projects are executed within budget and on schedule.
  • Cross-functional Coordination: Collaborate with internal teams such as Finance, Project Design, Procurement, Project Engineering, Manufacturing, and Logistics to meet project deadlines and specifications.
  • Client Support: Provide product-related support during installation and post-installation phases, coordinating with Finance on final payment collection.
  • Scope Management: Actively manage project scope, mitigating scope creep by handling change orders and ensuring profitability through effective negotiation and financial oversight.
  • Project Updates: Deliver timely project status updates and communicate any potential issues or delays to both clients and internal teams.
  • Timely Approvals: Manage client approvals for shop drawings, product selections, submittals, and other required project documents.
  • Documentation: Maintain up-to-date project records, including timelines, status updates, communication logs, and any changes to scope.
  • Site Coordination: Coordinate product delivery and installation-related questions with contractors where applicable.
  • Marketing Collaboration: Facilitate the collection of case study images, client testimonials, and other materials for marketing and sales efforts.
  • Process Improvement: Work with Management team to continually improve internal processes and efficiencies across project workflows.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other tasks as assigned by management to support business goals and project success.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Relevant experience coordinating commercial interior construction, architectural finishes, specialty trades, or building-product projects, including multiple concurrent projects.
  • Field/Jobsite Experience: Working understanding of commercial jobsite dynamics, specialty trade coordination, and construction schedules.
  • PMP Certification: Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is highly preferred, demonstrating proficiency in project management principles and practices.
  • Drawing & Submittal Knowledge: Ability to read architectural plans, reflected ceiling plans, shop drawings, and product specifications.
  • Technical Review & Detail: Ability to interpret architectural drawings, shop drawings, specifications, and submittals with exceptional accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with clients, internal teams, and external stakeholders.
  • Technical Proficiency: Experience with project management tools, CRM systems, and Microsoft Office Suite (or equivalent software) to manage project timelines, documentation, and communication.
  • Problem Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to flag/address challenges and proactively manage project risks.

Success Metrics

  • Project Approvals: Timely shop drawing, product selection, and submittal approvals so projects are ready for manufacturing.
  • Client Communication: Regular, clear communication with both internal teams and clients, tracked via CRM systems and email correspondence.
  • On-time Delivery: Successful delivery of projects within deadlines, budgets, and to client specifications.
  • Client Satisfaction: Achieving high levels of client satisfaction, reflected in positive feedback, testimonials, and ongoing business relationships.
