WestLand is adding a full-time Project Manager to our growing Cultural Resources team in the Pacific Northwest. The Project Manager oversees cultural resources projects from initiation through completion, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and in compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements. This position manages stakeholder communication, financial performance, technical quality, resource allocation, and change management processes. The role requires strong project management skills, sector-specific expertise, and the ability to mentor and lead multidisciplinary project teams. The role also requires limited business development, client relations, and proposal writing support. This position may be based out of our offices in Portland, Oregon or Seattle, Washington.

What will I be doing?

  • Communicate project goals and status updates to clients, PIC, project teams, and other stakeholders.
  • Establish and maintain clear communication protocols, including regular project updates and milestone reviews.
  • Assign and track specific project tasks to team members, including senior review staff.
  • Develop realistic project budgets with well-defined assumptions, involving relevant staff in planning.
  • Monitor project budgets weekly and address unanticipated expenditures promptly.
  • Ensure technical deliverables meet quality standards through established QA/QC procedures.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to project staff to develop high-quality products.
  • Coordinate personnel assignments with Group Managers, Department Directors, and other Project Managers.
  • Incorporate resource planning into approved tools during project initiation.
  • Identify deviations from project plans early and communicate changes to stakeholders promptly.
  • Prepare and process change orders with clear justifications and obtain stakeholder acceptance.
  • Adjust scope and budget to meet project schedule and financial goals.
  • Complete project closeout procedures, including checklists and marketing summaries.
  • Build relationships with current and future clients and teaming partners.
  • Developing proposals and identifying necessary resources for successful project completion.
  • Participating in marketing efforts

What qualifications are required for this role?

  • Undergraduate or Graduate degree in a relevant field required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years' experience in a sector-relevant discipline in the western U.S.
  • Experience in cultural resources project management.
  • Strong leadership and project management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and sector-specific software.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.

The wage range for this position is $110,000 – $125,000 annually.
