Job Description

Award-Winning 50-person distinguished architectural practice is actively seeking a Project Manager to join their growing Newport Beach & Solana Beach studio. The firm possesses expertise in programming, planning, design, and management services, primarily catering to Educational Facilities for over three decades. With offices located in Orange County, San Diego, and East Bay, this firm boasts a wealth of professional knowledge, talent, and personalized commitment to their clients. The studios embrace hybrid work arrangements and prioritize the professional development and growth of their designers, architects, and managers.

As leaders of multiple project teams, Project Managers oversee the administration, production, and coordination of project documentation while ensuring adherence to project budget and profit goals. They cultivate positive, long-term client relationships, reflecting the firm's business plan and objectives. Project Managers are integral to upholding office policies and procedures, fostering a culture of excellence and efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Align with company's business plan and goals, championing its values.

  • Efficiently manage multiple projects concurrently, delivering results on time and within budget.

  • Report directly to the Managing Principal, providing regular updates on project progress.

  • Supervise and mentor project teams, ensuring client satisfaction and project success.

  • Demonstrate advanced knowledge of relevant building codes, maintaining compliance at all stages.

  • Implement company's Guide to Quality Control and Project Management Manual, upholding high standards.

  • Prepare accurate project fee proposals and manage project budgets effectively.

  • Ensure accuracy, quality, and completeness of project deliverables, adhering to schedules and standards.

  • Drive business development initiatives, cultivating relationships with existing clients and pursuing new opportunities.

  • Participate in RFP interviews, contributing to the firm's growth and success.

Skills & Requirements

  • Knowledge in Revit, proficiency is a preferred but not required.

  • Experience in K-12, Higher Education, Civic or Institutional project types is required.

  • Familiarity with various construction delivery methods, including Design/Bid/Build and Design/Build.

  • Exceptional knowledge of building codes, ensuring compliance and safety.

  • Proven ability to motivate and inspire team members, fostering a collaborative work environment.

  • Experienced in construction administration and coordination, ensuring project success from inception to completion.

  • Demonstrated track record of meeting profitability goals and developing new business opportunities.

  • Strong organizational skills and capabilities, essential for managing multiple projects effectively.

Education Requirements A Bachelor’s degree in Architecture is required, with preference given to candidates who are California Licensed Architects.
